Anime Genre - Harem!
Harems are a genre that I do not see much outside of Japanese animation. It consists of the main character (male) whom, under circumstances that change every series, finds himself surrounded by female characters, all of whom have a crush on him and are determined to win his heart.
Harem usually have a healthy dose of humor (once again, do your research just in case!) and usually happen in a high school setting. Most times, they have a rather innocent main character who finds himself in a host of awkward situations, sometimes resulting in some misunderstandings by other people.
The opposite can also happen. In reverse harems, it is a girl surrounded by guys vying for her attention. This situation is a lot less common, but I will have a description of one I enjoyed in a later post.

I know of a few anime of this genre. Try looking up "Love Hina" or "Ranma 1/2" which I have enjoyed immensely as they are very comical and have some good romance as well

I was never very fond of harems, but I admit some can be pretty funny
