Bubblews - Status Report

Not writing this in the hopes of dividing and conquering. Not trying to get anybody to back me up. Not seeking out PROs or CONs either way. Just reporting the facts and opinions. My facts. My opinions.

There are writers that are either done with after that “fateful day” when nonpayment was announced or are still at Bubblews even though nonpayment was announced.

Me? Not in either group. My story is:

In the beginning, Bubblews was created and like many fellow who were barely earning anything at other writing sites though they were writing their butts off, I followed the multitude who had decided to give this new and different writing site a try. My first two attempts under the “old Bubblews” were failures. Then there was a lot of buzz about a “new Bubblews”. Turned off the noise. Totally ignored what was being said. Then came even more noise. Only this time it was angry noise . Some of it was “Sue Bubblews” cries; and some of it was “We Believe in Arvind and Jason!” chants. So confusing. Couldn't resist the temptation. Went back and signed up! It was New Year's Eve. Wrote my first bubble while passing the time waiting for the ball to drop. (Ball drop? Yes. For those who may not know. Annual event. Every year. New York City USA . The ball drops in Times Square signalling the start of a brand new year. Times Square Ball Drop 2015 New York City New Year's Eve .)

There are lots of “unlikeable” quirks about the site. However, the management and staff made promises of good things to come. Regardless, for the moment, my stance is: my Bubblews activity is the same as my , , activity. None of those sites pay or even promise to pay me. Let me be clear. There are non-monetary benefits derived from using these accounts, which could very well materialize as dollars and cents later on down the road. Nevertheless, if $50 IN CASH shows up in PayPal account (hopefully just in time for the holidays at the end of the year) because of just basically shooting the breeze, goofing off and hanging out over at Bubblews, then … Hey! Fine by me!

That being said, here are a sampling of the titles of my bubbles.

Much as I enjoyed my time at Bubblews, I can't view it in the same way as sites like Facebook because I signed up with the understanding that I would be paid for my efforts. Bubblews has not been honest with their members and I will never be able to trust them again.

Feisty56 wrote on March 20, 2015, 7:27 PM

Certainly can't fault you for having your own opinion and choices in how you use your time and talents.

johnmariow wrote on March 20, 2015, 8:40 PM

I have a few questions about BubbleWS. Why did it take them so long to discover the deep financial trouble they were in? Did they not analyze their income and expenses every month? The whole scenario described by the Founder makes no sense to me.

crowntower wrote on March 20, 2015, 8:55 PM

I think everyone has already made their decisions, and stated their own opinions, some stays some didn't. But anyway its been almost 5 months or 3 months already since a lot of chaos happens, and I think let just give it a rest. Hehehehe.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 20, 2015, 9:28 PM

Wasn't sure so I checked. Yep. Didn't use the word "enjoy" in my PP post. :)

Just like everybody else who is a mature and responsible adult: you, and I and whoever else fits that description - We prefer to make our own decisions and stand or fall, knowing that it was our decision and that nobody manipulated us, deceived or tricked us, and we were not ill-advised to our detriment.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 20, 2015, 9:42 PM

I'm not defending the founders. Don't know what they knew, when they knew it. But how is it an entire country has gone through a banking crisis? (And other countries as well.) Didn't they review their financial records? Didn't they know they were selling wothless mortgage-backed securities to investors? That makes no sense, unless you rationalize what happened by saying one word: CROOKS!!! What's more? This isn't the first financial crisis America has ever had. However when the other events happened I hadn't been born yet. Nevertheless your questions are valid and reasonable.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 20, 2015, 9:49 PM

Give it a rest? There are some matters people need to settle for themselves. Actually I'm giving my work a record. A visible audit trail. Hah hah. It's a laugh since we all know cyber records can be erased, deleted or destroyed with the touch of a button. Internet access can be blocked. Etc., etc., etc.

I still log in at bubble ooze but I don't write anymore. Rather, I read the posts made by connections who I have considered as family and basically, just to read what is in the front page.

MommyCharm wrote on March 21, 2015, 6:02 AM

I still check my Bubblews account from time to time but I no longer create new bubbles. Still, Im glad for those who still get their missing payments which did not happen to me.

HappyLady wrote on March 21, 2015, 7:55 AM

I still write on Bubblews most days and to be honest, I am still supportive. They did pay me most of anything I was owed. I am a pretty prolific writer and while I would prefer writing longer and better crafted articles here I use Bubblews to keep my creative juices flowing. I may one day, jump ship, but I think it only fair to stay till they produce the new version. I don't think it easy to run a site and yet again, this morning we hear of another one in trouble. Persona seems to be building slowly and steadily. Best Writers has gone to the wall already it seems even if people are offering to write free to save it.Let's face it would any of us be writing anywhere if we had not first found Hubpages, Wikinut and then Bubblews? Those three and the less reputable Triond dominate and actually you do not, unless you are doing well on Hubpages earn much from any of them.

Hollyhocks100 wrote on March 21, 2015, 9:45 AM

I have to agree with you. What finished me was the way they dodged valid questions about the future, and YES I wanted to be paid for my efforts too.

scheng1 wrote on March 21, 2015, 10:30 AM

I have received quite a lot of money from Bubblews for 2 years, but the next cashout of $50 is impossible with such low rate.

FreyaYuki wrote on March 21, 2015, 12:40 PM

Haven't been there in a while since the traffic is really quite low and the bank page barely moves though, sometimes, I still try to log in every once in a while as I currently have around 30+ there.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 2:53 PM

Yes. It seems many people have made friends and don't want to lose those connections. That's a good thing to keep from the site.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 2:56 PM

Last I heard some folks were supposed to be filing a class action lawsuit to demand their payments.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 3:08 PM

To be honest, stuff I write at Bubblews “happens”. No strategic plan or carefully thoughts out words. Something spills out of my brain and I think to myself: 'Eh! Make this into a bubble. Why keep it in my head or leave it in my private computer files, if I can make a few cents? Type it up and publish it!'

My first start with online writing was Suite.io (formerly Suite101.com).

LOL. What is this Best Writers you speak of? Never mind. It's not there. This site came and went before I even knew about it.

Signed up for Wikinut but never used it. Triond? Uh? Neither of those two sites were my style. Couldn't get inspired. It's not their fault. It's me.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 3:10 PM

Impossible? Well that's not very encouraging. Was really hoping for some extra money for holiday shopping.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 3:18 PM

My bank moves. Slowly. But it does move. I wish I could figure out what I'm doing to make that happen! (O.o) My posts don't get that many comments or likes or shares. Seriously. The site feels like a ghost town. One Bubbler said she started making money through tweeting her bubbles. I'm thinking about it. I just want to get accused of spamming.

LindaCPearson wrote on March 21, 2015, 3:54 PM

I wrote for Bubblews for quite a while and continued even after things started to go downhill. I haven't written anything there in a few months. I feel the good writers were treated very shabbily and dishonestly and I just don't want to be treated like that. I did love the site at first and I do miss it and try to keep up with friends I made there that are now on other sites.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 21, 2015, 6:10 PM

What I like about writing bubbles is I don't have to think about what I write. I spit stuff out, check the spelling and grammar, make sure it's at least 400 characters and I'm done! Not making as many friends at Bubblews as I am making here. The PersonaPaper community seems more relaxed and willing to comment.

jiangliu1949 wrote on March 22, 2015, 5:13 AM

Recently I occasionally visit there to talk with some friends after a long spell when I was unable to sign in .As for payment there ,it is better left unsaid .I have n't even got one penny there .

From what I've heard and seen, it seems that a lot of people have left already though there are still people there but the traffic and earnings are both low. Is the post about tweeting Bubblews articles recent? From what I've heard, this used to be the case before but now, there are some who say that we no longer get paid for external views.

inertia4 wrote on March 22, 2015, 12:50 PM

cmoneyspinner I like your post here. I have been a member of Bubblews since the beginning and will remain there. I will also remain here as a member. I personally like both sites, I feel comfortable with both sites. Each person needs to do what feel is the right thing for them.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 22, 2015, 2:12 PM

I'm finding the Bubblews community members have very “measured responses” and I don't know if it's just that the morale is low after what happened and now they have rebuild their enthusiasm. Tell you what though. Those two guys - Arvind and Jason - really have balls to keep showing their faces to the world. They've got a lot of people that are angry with them. What amazes me is them still hanging in there! Seth Godin dumped his Squidoo site! Some folks aren't happy with his decisions either. But the Bubblews guys are taking some severe tongue-lashing and yet the website is still there!! I'm like … 'How is this gonna end?' The suspense has got me hooked! This is better watching than a soap opera. :)

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 22, 2015, 2:23 PM

With the continuing Bubblews saga, seems like nothing is ever “recent”. :) That Twitter post was dated 2014. The bubbles have buttons. You can like, tweet, plus and pin. No payment for “external views”? So why bother sharing? I tweet and pin most of the time. What are those buttons for then??

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 22, 2015, 2:29 PM

I like Bubblews because I can convert my “babble” into a “bubble” and possibly turn it into cash. I like this site because the people here make me feel really good!! It's a very pleasant atmosphere here. Everybody seems so relaxed and casual. Good vibes!! :)

jiangliu1949 wrote on March 23, 2015, 3:12 AM

cmoneyspinner They come to no good end ,not better than Mylot. To be fair ,Mylot came across as an honest site .

FreyaYuki wrote on March 23, 2015, 6:49 AM

Before, there were many who advised others to share their Bubblews articles on social media but, now, there are some who say that they no longer get anything from external views. Some say they checked their bank page after sharing a post and confirmed this to be the case.

If you tweet and pin your stuff, maybe you can check if this is still the case? See if the bank page moves after sharing your posts thanks to views from non-Bubblews members. I do hope this is still the case though I don't know for sure; just what I heard from reading some posts there.

inertia4 wrote on March 24, 2015, 1:53 PM

cmoneyspinner That's why I like both sites. For me they both make me feel comfortable. Especially here. This site has that special something about it.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 24, 2015, 2:24 PM

If you have to rely on internal views to generate a penny, makes no sense to have social media buttons for sharing. I'm not saying that's not the case. I'm saying it don't make sense, as well as not making cents. You follow me?

FreyaYuki wrote on March 25, 2015, 9:42 AM

Yeah. I know what you mean. Before, it was easy to see how much you're earning on that site because you can see the number of views that you have and you get paid per like, comment and view. But, now, this isn't the case anymore and many have said, they don't really know anymore exactly what we're getting paid for. There are many posts wondering if we still get paid for social media shares and for external views.

cmoneyspinner wrote on March 25, 2015, 3:18 PM

Mylot??? There's another writing site that I've never heard of. (???) My belief is: In the end you reap what you sow. That rule applies to everybody. The Internet is a wonderful invention. But many unscrupulous people have taken advantage thinking that it's easy for them to do wrong and then hide or disappear. Sadly other people get treated unfairly and even hurt by their deeds. This is the world we live in. I don't rely on anything to always be there. If my accounts are online when I check that's great. If not - Oh well! Another one bit the dust! If I get taken advantage of or mistreated, it won't be the first time that ever happened. I pick up the pieces and move on! Life is too short to engage in unfruitful activity. Nice chatting with you! :)

jiangliu1949 wrote on March 26, 2015, 4:55 AM

cmoneyspinner Thank you ! Talking with you does me a power of good too .I think conscience of those people who take advantage of others would censures them for it.Mylot doesn't pay for post now ,but I still have account there .

Owlwings wrote on May 12, 2015, 7:00 PM

What was MUCH worse was that Bubblews clearly weren't being honest with THEMSELVES. I think that Arvind, particularly, for a long time ignored the hard facts of running a site and exhorted his employees with such things as: "Don't worry, guys! Everything's gonna be fine ... just wait and see!", "I have investment coming from X and Y ..." &c . &c . The long and the short of it is that it's really quite easy to fool yourself and if you have charisma, it's not impossible to fool your staff for a while, so that they sing your tune. We haven't heard a word from Arvind or any of the staff for months now. I'm beginning to wonder how many employees they have had to 'let go' because they can't pay them ... never mind the members!

KristinRavelle wrote on May 12, 2015, 8:16 PM

I had tried to join Bubblews a couple of times but for some reason, my account just wouldn't get activated. Now, in light of everything that has happened, I'm really glad it didn't happen for me. It sounds like Persona Paper may work out much better!

cmoneyspinner wrote on May 13, 2015, 12:15 PM

I find that the publishing platform is very user-friendly and the community is very member-friendly. A definite plus is that I have not heard one complaint about writers not being paid. By contrast, from the very beginning, even before the Bubblews bubble burst – people complained about nonpayment. That happened right from the start of the site getting up and running. This site's search engine ranking is way lower than Bubblews, but it may rise in due time. The two Ps in PersonaPaper have to stand patience and perseverance. Hope you stick around, have fun, and make some money. :)

cmoneyspinner wrote on May 13, 2015, 1:30 PM

I don't know this for a fact but my guess is a lot of their time is being taken up with handling legal matters. Hope they can work through it. It's not just the site. Their business reputation is on the line. If they can't make a comeback in this area they should probably try something else. Hey! I'm just an old lady and can't tell two young entrepreneurs what they ought to do! I can tell myself what to do and I have not written a post there for a while because I have no initiative or incentive whatsoever. My best wishes for those who are still there. It's not for me.
