Ignore and keep on writing

Lets face it, most people writing online are only doing it for a bit of fun. There are not that many around who are really doing it for a living. Yet I am surprised to see just how serious some people take it. I have wrote for Wikinut and some of there members take it all to serious indeed, it sort of takes the fun out of it. I mean there are magazines online who pay good writers a lot of money for articles and other great earning opportunities around.

So why would anyone with any great skill get paid peanuts over at Wikinut. I think these people are not as good as they wish to be, and indirectly take it out on people online. I could see how these people could put some one off, who is experimenting for the first time with writing online. My advice is do not let these people get to you, just keep going and doing your best, you never know it may change your life.

I agree that one should not give up on writing. It is a skill that one develops over time, not something that is one is born with fully developed. And hecklers, yes, but I wouldn't go into it expecting it to change my life financially. Don't get me wrong—it would be nice, and I'd be happy to see it should it come, but even if it doesn't, I'll still write.

I write for a review site and see the same sort of people - annoying really as those precious types spoil the atmosphere

I am certainly only here for a past time. If I wanted to earn money for bills by writing I would be looking for a different type of writing place.

I haven't contributed to Wikinut for a while, though do pop back every now and then. i find writing a post there takes time and discipline, and I'm short of both!

it is a bit more difficult, but it can be profitable if you do it properly.

I guess I need to disagree. Most people who are online is not writing for fun, but writing to make something for a living. There are many magazines and opportunity outside, but if you are not great, and has no backer to help you there is a lot of NO that YES when you apply to them, God bless.

Wikinut allows you to republish the content. I think many of them are republishing content they had written long ago.

What did the people on Wikinut do? You didn't mention it. Have heard of Wikinut but I don't write there. Some have said that the earnings are way too low and some have also said that you can't delete your articles from there, which isn't good since you can't move them if you want to.

micksy1983 You do have a point, but I think many people think that easy money can be made at this kind of sites and that's why earnings become a big issue.
