Irish Skin that Glows in the Dark
Another wee post for St Patrick's Day...
This is a picture of me that a friend took a couple of years ago as we sat and had lunch. As you can see, my pale Irish complexion makes it quite unnecessary to use a flash. My face is so light-reflective, they could probably use it as the Bat Signal should batteries fail. It's nice to know that I could help keep Gotham City safe, if need be. And if a burglar broke into my house at night and made the mistake of shining a flashlight at me, he would simply blind himself, so that's handy.
Believe it or not, I can actually get a tan in the summer, as long as I do it very slowly and carefully (according to Catherine Zeta Jones, whom I honestly thought was Spanish when I first saw her in the Zorro movie, Welsh people can catch tan, so I am thanking the Welsh on my mom's side), and then I look way more interesting--downright exotic, actually. I used to work with a lady named Catherine who was from England, and once when I returned from a trip to the beach sporting some color, she praised my golden glow and said she was never able to tan, "Because I'm European," she explained.
That made me laugh--I wonder what she thought I was?
