I Just Joined Facebook

I guess I am a bit behind the times. While most people have had Facebook for years, and some are leaving it, I just joined.
The reason I joined Facebook is because my daughter has her own business which she often promotes on Facebook, and I want to be able to connect to people and help her promote her business.
As well I have seen her use Facebook as a buy and sell site for personal items. When I have posted lambs for sale on the regular sites it can take a while to sell them, but she posted them on Facebook and they sold fast.
So far I do agree that it can be a bit of a time waster, as I find myself often distracted from doing what I could/should be doing and checking and commenting on other posts, but I did manage to sell one of my pictures by using Facebook so that was great. The image shown here is the picture I sold.

Good on you. I initially joined for the same reason, when our son was in business. I found twitter worked for that as well.

Did you draw that picture? If so, you are quite the artist. If not, it's still a great picture and I'm glad you had success selling it on Facebook. I've been on Facebook for several years. I never sold anything on FB. I used FB mostly for social reasons and I occasionally post my articles there.

Thats great. I use it to keep in touch with family that lives farther away also.

BNelson I had Facebook for a long time now. I hardly ever go on there anymore. I find it boring. They need to change things and make the site more exciting.

That is a great picture, maybe you will sell more of your art on Facebook. I don't have Facebook.

Good for you. I hope your daughter's busy goes well. I first joined to stay in touch with people.

This is Guiness the Cat. I joined Facebook to promote my literature (as I am a literaturizing kitty), but I do enjoy interacting with some of my feline buddies there. You should make a page for your work in addition to your personal page.

I have been on Facebook for awhile. It is true it can be a great place to sell things as many people do use it.

We find the local buy & sell group to be quite useful sometimes, too. So far we've just used it to buy, but will have to try selling there in future.
