New Rules and Implementation
If you haven't yet heard, we have some new rules taking place due to a lack in revenue from certain countries. You can read more about those changes in the announcements section on the front page. We have excluded new membership from the Phillipines and India for the time being. These two countries have us hitting a great amount of impressions on our site, however, the ad networks are not actually paying us for their views. Please note that this does NOT affect current members and only affects views from non-members. We are also not paying for outside views outside of the 3 countries that are currently earning us revenue. We ARE accepting members from countries that have not been excluded. When we see a rise in membership or views from other countries, they will be added to the whitelist and outside views will begin to be counted for that particular country.
As of right now, we have already implemented the above mentioned changes, however, we do have new rules that we will be putting into place.
Paypal will not allow us to send certain countries money via the "friends and family" option. Therefore, some countries may incur Paypal fees. We are unaware of what the fee might be, and it doesn't give us the option to pay for such fees (or we would), so unfortunately, we will not be able to tell you what these fees might be ahead of time, or if they will indeed exist. When given the option to pay for the Paypal fees, we WILL do that, however, when we are not told what the fees might be, or if they will even incur a fee, there's nothing we can do about it. Please be aware that from this point forward your email address MUST be verified/confirmed in order to receive payment. If it is not a verified email address, we will notify you that payment will not continued to be processed until this is taken care of. This will keep any "unclaimed" amounts happening in our own Paypal account.
Inactive Users and Users with 0 posts
As stated before, inactive users will start to have coins taken away after a certain time frame. This has NOT be implemented yet, and an email will go out to all members prior to this happening.
We will also soon be implementing a new policy when it comes to Users with 0 posts. Members that have 0 posts (not including their mandatory introduction) after 90 days will have their accounts deleted. This is not just for new members who sign up and do not bother to post anything, but for old members as well. If you delete all of your articles and have 0 posts for 90 days or more, your account will be subject to deletion. This will give us a more accurate view of our current active membership. Of course, any member who has their account deleted for such inactivity is welcome to reapply. Keep in mind, however, that if your country has been excluded, you will not be able to reapply for membership.
Any suspended user who has an outstanding user issue for more than 14 days and have not properly fixed their user issue will have that particular article deleted. If it is a consistent user issue, your account may be subject to deletion. This is no different than breaking a rule. If you are confused as to why you have a use issue, please refer back to the Rules, AUP, FAQ and How It Works sections of the site.
Users who are flagged for Incoherent English will be subject to account deletion to keep the quality of our site at a peak level. Please keep in mind that if your account is flagged for Incoherent English, that your account may stay suspended until we manually delete your account. Eventually, this will not be done manually, and will be done automatically when your account or post is flagged for Incoherent English.
When Will All of This Be Implemented?
As of right now, we are looking to implement the above rules by the end of April. We have had a lot of personal things come up lately (increase in work load, 2 broken vehicles, illnesses, etc) that have pushed us behind on the programming aspect.
As a side note, a few have wondered when the new Persona Blogger will be implemented. We're still working on that as well, as we're building the design and programming it all from the ground up. We really do hope that this will be implemented by summer, and we are looking forward to it being completed.
