The 'Truth and Lie' writing game - my version!

WITH ACKNOWLEDGEMENT TO CoralLevang and following on from allen0187 and his post introducing the Truth and Lie Writing Game I have decided to jump in with my own version.

The rules are very simple:

1) Write three statements about yourself - two of which are true and one of which is a lie;

2) Those who take part shall decide which is true and which is not and leave their guesses (and perhaps comment on their reasoning);

3) If you decide to write your own version of this 'Truth or Lie' game you should tag the person whose lead you are following and also use this tag for the game -

4) After a certain time has elapsed (24-48 hours) write another post revealing which statement is the lie.

However you all know me and you know I couldn't just leave it at that! So I have decided to do it all in one post and give you the answer as well as the statements.

You are still free to leave comments and guesses but when you get fed-up guessing them simply click on the button and you will be put out of your misery with the revelation of the lying statement!

So here they are - two truths and one lie about me :

1) I was born in a hospital with the unsavoury name of 'Rottenrow';

2) I once kissed a giraffe;

3) I have walked the length of Scotland from north to south.

Bet that has put all your minds racing! When you get fed up guessing just CLICK HERE FOR THE REVEAL .

INTERESTING FACT: Did you know that Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia is the fear of long words?

I am going to guess that is not the truthful one.

MegL wrote on March 15, 2015, 5:08 PM

Of all 3 statements, I thought was most likely to be true!!!

CoralLevang wrote on March 15, 2015, 5:18 PM

Knowing you, I can imagine all three of them being true! LOL But even in the UK, I cannot imagine that they would be so cruel to make you a Rottenrow. I just have one question: Did you French kiss the giraffe??? My guess: Uh, huh! Yep! emoticon :winking:

valmnz wrote on March 15, 2015, 5:27 PM

I'm guessing you didn't kiss a giraffe, but did kiss some other kind of animal.

Glenn wrote on March 15, 2015, 5:58 PM

Kasman - You haven't walked the length of Scotland? You just made me realize something. I hike about six miles per week. In over 30 years, I've made it the equivalent of crossing the United States. Anyway, I didn't guess right. You win.

WordChazer wrote on March 15, 2015, 6:02 PM

Damn. I guessed wrong. Aww, shucks.

Kasman wrote on March 15, 2015, 6:07 PM

valmnz - Another kind of animal - what do you think I am? emoticon :smile: Did you click the 'Reveal'?

Kasman wrote on March 15, 2015, 6:10 PM

CoralLevang - the incident with the giraffe happened at a wildlife park near Glasgow many years ago. The animal was very tame and the keepers used to place food in their mouths and the giraffe would take it from them. They invited visitors to do the same and guess who stepped up to the front!

maxeen wrote on March 15, 2015, 6:25 PM

I am going to say that 2 and 3 are correct,here's hoping !!

valmnz wrote on March 15, 2015, 7:20 PM

Yes, after I'd made my comment emoticon :smile:

Kasman wrote on March 15, 2015, 7:34 PM

Surprise!

allen0187 wrote on March 15, 2015, 7:54 PM

Statement three is true as I've read many of your posts and seen the photos of your treks in Scotland. Statement two and one, that is a mean toss up but I think the second statement is true as well as I do not think any hospital will be named 'Rottenrow'. Like what you wrote, too unsavory.

I am absolutely sure that you have walked the length of Scotland, so the fabrication has to be one of the other two.

AliCanary wrote on March 16, 2015, 11:10 AM

....aaaaaaand I'm an idiot.

Lushlala wrote on March 16, 2015, 12:55 PM

Yes, i'm with most people here; you've done all 3!

nbaquero wrote on March 16, 2015, 1:07 PM

Kasman I think you might have done all three. Number 1 is easily verifiable, not sure about the other two. Will click now to find the answer.

LisaSteinmetz wrote on March 16, 2015, 1:41 PM

Number 1?

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm a bit suspicious of anyone who needs to know that Hippopotomonstrosesquipedaliaphobia is the fear of long words. It makes me think you might be afflicted with it. Are you afraid of long words? I love them myself, but try to remember most of my audience is only human.

trufflehunter wrote on March 16, 2015, 7:17 PM

Erm kissed the giraffe where? I'd say this was untrue.

trufflehunter wrote on March 16, 2015, 7:18 PM

Awww nice reveal! Poor giraffe :p only kidding!

LindaCPearson wrote on March 17, 2015, 3:33 PM

Well, I guessed wrongly. I picked as the lie only because I was pretty sure walking the length of Scotland north to south would interest you. I'm not surprised it's on your wish list.

seren3 wrote on March 17, 2015, 3:37 PM

Kasman I guessed was the lie. I know you've walked quite a bit - but a whole country? Keep it up emoticon :smile: !

Kasman wrote on March 17, 2015, 4:33 PM

seren3 - It's not impossible. From the top of Scotland to the border with England is only about 300 miles and by road from the top of Scotland to the very bottom of England is just over 800 miles. Compare that to your Appalachian Trail which is 2160 miles long and has been walked by many people.

McIntire wrote on March 18, 2015, 1:43 PM

I don't know you well but for some reason I think that lovely-named hospital is believable, lol!

Kasman wrote on March 18, 2015, 5:54 PM

McIntire - Rottenrow Hospital (Glasgow Royal Maternity Hospital to give it its full name), where I was born, was a very well-known hospital in my home town of Glasgow. The original building was demolished some years ago.

paigea wrote on March 18, 2015, 9:57 PM

I am guessing that 2 is not the truth. I am sure 3 is true!
