Relaunching GROOVE CAKE Records
I had always been a fan of music. I worked in a global music brand and I enjoyed my time there immensely. After a couple of years, I decide to launch my very own indie record label. I opened an online shop in eBay and I sold audio cds, DVDs, and merchandise usually from local and international underground bands. I was able to listen to a wide range of musical genres from the most talented musicians that the world hasn't heard from yet. For that I was thankful. It also helped that I was making some extra mint because of the record label. After a couple of months, I ventured into concert production and event management. I felt that I was my own Dr. Dre and I had my local version of Aftermath Records. Actually, I felt more like Suge Knight calling the shots for Death Row Records minus the rap sheet and ties to street gangs. LOL!
Then the changes happened. There were changes in eBay and then there were changes in my life, plus there were changes in how music was being distributed and marketed to the buying public so I had to close shop and put my budding music record label empire on hold. It felt like pausing my favorite tune right in the middle of the song.
Now that I have my online shop up, I've also decided to relaunch my indie record label.
Listen. Taste. Feel.
Have a slice of Groove Cake Records!!!
