The Number One Song on My Birthday

I must admit I haven't started with AliCanary 's . There are a lot of posts about this song challenge and I just haven't had the chance to do so. Anyway, here's hoping that this music themed post will kick start it for me and I can go waist deep in that challenge.

So, I stumbled upon a site that lists the number one songs during one's birthday. The site is appropriately called and you can check what was the number one song in both US and UK Charts plus the number one dance track during that time! How cool is that? Very cool in my book! Plus, if you are born from 1989 on wards, you get to see what was the number one alternative rock hit. I guess, alternative rock wasn't that big before 1989.

The number one song in the US Chart on my birthday was Donna Summer's 'MacArthur Park' while the number one song in the UK Chart was 'Summer Nights' by John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. If you fancy putting on your dancing shoes, Destination's 'Move On Up' was the number one dance track on my birthday!

I might be moved by a song when I heard it in a shop, a cafe or a pub. Then I would searched for it on the internet.

I remember when this became very popular on Facebook. It is fun to see what people were grooving to when you were born!

Cool to know. But the only radio station that I will never forget and always cherish is Kool 106... Lol! And Dj Henry Kiss. Hahahahha and Lex love. Have you heard about them? I think that's 1996-97 I guess. Hehehe it is super cool, and I really love the song "Sunlight".. forget the female singer who sungs it... she just visited the Philippine last year.

That's pretty cool! I know the 30 day thing sounds like a lot, but you don't have to do the days all in a row emoticon :winking:

allen0187 That is a pretty cool idea for a website, and those are nice songs too, I remember Summer Nights was a huge hit back in the 70's following the success of Grease.

If MacArthur Park tops US chart and Summer Nights tops UK chart, you can top both charts by singing Summer Nights in MacArthur Park.

I'd love to do and complete the 30-Day Challenge AliCanary and I'd like to do it in succession just to keep the momentum going. Otherwise, I'll likely forget about it . LOL!

Ellis , no worries as you'll have more time for the challenge in some other day.
