From Fairy Tales To Hollywood!!!

seems to me that hollywood is looking for the next box-office blockbuster from fairy tales but it has been giving these stories a nice twist.

take for consideration the two previous snow white movies that were shown. there was also red riding hood. then they had hansel and gretel which they turned into witch hunters and also jack the giant slayer (which derived its inspiration from jack and the beanstalk). nothing really wrong with seeing these types of movies in my opinion. i must admit, i didn't watch the two snow white movies but i did see the two latter movies that i mentioned. i saw the trailers for both movies and it looked interesting. i know i mentioned red riding hood but i really have no idea what happened in that movie. anyway, here's my take. if i were to 'repackage' little red riding hood as a movie, i'd have little red riding hood as a wolf hunter. i know that the vampires vs werewolves movie franchise 'underworld' already has the same premise but surely we can have one more heroine to battle a pack of hungry werewolves. think of the new red riding hood as selena but this time clad in a red riding hood. lol!!!! currently showing is cinderella but having watched the trailer, i think the movie producers didn't quite depart from the story.

so my fellow PPers, what fairy tale would you like turned into an action extravaganza by hollywood and how do you see it remade? please feel free to chime in.

cheers!!!

None. I'm okay with the originals as is, no movie is necessary for me.

&allen0817 I think if I were to do Little Red Ridding Hood, I would make it more of a real life abduction drama. Set in modern times in the streets of a big city. The wolf would be a serial killer/rapist. But I would put some sort of sick twist into it. Action and adventure for sure. But at the core a suspense horror drama.

Yeah, I think the originals are fine as it is.

Red Riding Hood, Jack the Giant Slayer, Hansel and Gretal and Snow White were all box office failures despite souping them up with werewolves and monsters. But Hollywood trudges on mining fairy tales thinking they are the magical attraction for young audiences.

i rather Hollywood focus on fairytales than violent shows.
