Hotmail is Now No Mail

Frustration. The one word tho describe my feelings right now. Out of the blue I suddenly find that i cannot open my hotmail account. i have always kept it with an automatic sign in feature and hence, I am able to read my mails instantly.

Well today was different. First they asked for my password. I typed it in. Once. And only once. I see a sentence in red informing me that I have signed in my password too many times. Sigh. i knew I now had a long night in front of me. This is going to be a long and difficult night and I was right.

Tried to reset the password. Gave them another email address. They sent me a link ten lines long. Click this link their email read and so I did. Nothing happened. I ended up trying to click this and that . Still nothing.

Back to the initial sign in page. This time I requested a security code to be sent to my phone. Again a long verification session and ta da .... my phone beeps. I gleefully type in my code and am informed that I can now reset my password.

Reset my password and moved into the sign in page. Typed my new password and clicked ENTER!

I see red and it says : You have signed in the wrong password too many times.

Left that and now I am here!

Hopefully they get it fixed soon, sounds like a problem on their end.

I dislike sites that do that. I think that happens to me when I try to book a ferry sailing, very annoying.

That isn't good at all. I do hope you get it all sorted out. I use hotmail and haven't had issues with it at all. Good luck to you.

When sites work correctly, they're amazing. When they're not, it annoys me to no end

You might try emptying your browser cache as well as your internet temporary files and all of your browser's cookies. Make sure you do the same with all of your browsers if you have more than one, then make sure your email address for hotmail or outlook are not in conflict as some people have old accounts and simply forget about them. Or they may share an email account with another person in the family like a child or a spouse. If the server has your belated and pending emails and you still can not obtain them by signing into your account, try to contact Microsoft Help and explain, as well your email client may be a second party to your ISP like Verizon or Sprint or whatever. I know this much, if they know you have an account and you have very recently used it, you should be able to contact support, create a new password over the phone, not online, and make sure above all things that your computer or cell has not been hacked so run a virus scan ASAP before doing anything. They should even have a forum for you to go to so you can get help that way. Here is a link for you > https :// account . live . com / resetpassword . aspx
Their basic support for hotmail as well as a toll free number is also here >

Thanks so much for all the advice on how to get my problem sorted out. Anyway got rid of the issue and mail is in as usual. Had to change the password. i hate this the most. Now I had to write it down as it had to be something different. Sigh. Well at least I am not cut off from my friends. That's a relieve.

Happytrhat you have sorted it out.Where have you noted the password down ? Hope it is not in a little book which you may find lost one of these days.So careful about it.

Don't you just love technology! Hope it's all sorted for you by now. How frustrating not to be able to get your e-mail.

I have really never had a problem with my hotmail. I have used it for so long now, over 15 years, I think.
