100 miles in 90 days - Final Progress Report

A few days ago (March 10th) I crossed the 100-Mile mark and completed the challenge, with almost three weeks to spare.

It took me a total of seventy (70) days to walk these hundred miles, I walked for 30 to 60 minutes during 53 days and took 17 days off. All those Rest days played an important role in reaching the goal earlier than planned, providing recovery when needed.

Big Thanks to AngelSharum for suggesting and actually inspiring me to take the challenge . It has been fun sharing it with her, but were are not done yet. Since this a team effort I plan to continue walking until the end of the month along with her (remotely of couse). I want to support AngelSharum as much as I can.

As usual here are the progress charts:

First the cummulative chart that shows the total distance covered since I started the challenge. The Blue line shows the covered distance, and the Red line is the baseline or planned distance.

My own picture

This chart shows a detailed log of walked distance by day. Those empty spaces represent rest days.

Here are my previous progress reports about this challenge

It feels very good completing this challenge, besides the obvious health benefits, it has confirmed in a very practical manner that step by step (literally) our goals are within reach if we put the time and discipline required to pursue them.

Hope all of you out there consider some sort of physical activity goals. Even a few minutes a day will help!

Congratulations to you! You're right -- any steps at all toward a goal make a difference. We can't get anywhere in life if we don't begin and then remain dedicated to reaching our goals/dreams. You and AngelSharum are an inspiration to us all. : )

Feisty56 Thanks so much for your kind words.

Thanks a lot LadyDuck I know you value physical exercise and walking as part of a balanced life, personally this challenge helped me on that area, I forced myself to schedule the time for my walks, and keep track of them. I feel grateful for that.

A very impressive achievement and completed with a good margin. It would be more likely to take me 70 months.

Congratulations! You've also been an inspiration to me in continuing with my own walking. Whenever I let it lapse a little, you seem to bounce in on here with your progress reports, reminding me I haven't been for a few days emoticon

That's wonderful! Obviously, you should keep walking anyway, since it's great exercise!

Great job on finishing the challenge early! You did a wonderful job with it. I plan to do an update after I walk a little more on the treadmill here soon tonight. I do appreciate all your support, I really do. Thank you!

I love that I inspired a few people to get more active. That is one thing that is good for all of us.

&nbquero Keep walking! It's so cool. I have a pedometer which I put on when I get up and take off when I go to bed. I am always trying to walk more, every day.

Very cool idea. Thats awesome that even with taking so many days off that you finished so far ahead of time that you can actually go over the amount now for a team effort. Great job. I cant wait for it to warm up here more so I can go walking daily.
