Is It Safe To Fly?

Last year had been a really bad year for the folks in Malaysia where flying is concerned. We have been having a really good track record and the airlines had won many international awards. Suddenly everything came crashing down last year. First it was MH370. The plane just disappeared mid air. Until today, one year later, the plane is yet to be found. We have nations all over the world looking for this plane with Australia being in the fore front and yet, nothing. The families and loved ones are waiting for answers and closure and yet there seem to be no answers.

Then there was MH17. The plane was shot down while flying over Ukraine. All passengers were killed.Nobody is taking the blame. There was fighting there and the plane was shot by mistake. Is this an answer you would accept?

Of late it was an Air Asia flight. Flying from Indonesia to Singapore, caught in a storm and crashed into the sea. All passengers died. It was so sad watching the media showing the way the wreckage in the sea. It took the rescuers a few weeks to get the parts of the plane out of the sea.

i think Malaysians in general heaved a sigh of relieve when the year came to an end. Worse, still 2014 was visit Malaysia year. What irony! all the plans and programs that were put into place did not get the response we wanted. Malaysians were not in the mood to celebrate and the tourists were keeping away too.

2015 will be a better year. Of this I am sure. After all life is like a tide, sometimes it is high and at other times it is low. we just need to learn to ride it out and all will be well.

I have only flown once and for me it was not a good experience. I felt totally helpless. You can walk away from a car accident, but there is no control in the air. I do not [plan to fly again. My cousin was an airline attendant for 10 yers and blessed to have no accidents.

It was a bad year last year and I will admit, it makes me nervous about flying. But I love to travel... and I have family in other countries so sometimes I must fly. I really hope the airlines will be more careful with their inspections from now on. I keep reading news about how careless they are about repairing planes and it really makes me uncomfortable.

Somebody did this and I hope that eventually they will pay for it. I personally am afraid of flying and respect others who do fly. To dome degree any form of human conveyance is not fool proof.

I doubt anything will really put me off air travel but agree with you that last year was a horrid year for the airline industry. I wish Malaysia Airlines all the best moving forward. I had one flight with them and it was a great experience.
