Captcha Challenge – “LOL cat”

I love Captcha—nutty, nutty Captcha. I’m sure when the Captcha is for Progressive and those other advertisements, Persona Paper probably gets more money, but I love the goofy Captchas. I hope we still gets paid for those, because not only are they hilarious to see, they also make for some inspiring posts, hence the “Captcha Challenge”. Whoever came up with the Captcha Challenge is awesome, and thank you!
One time, I had a Captcha that said “LOL cat”. Usually I have to refresh the Captcha before I submit because it times out, and this time was no exception, but I decided to immortalize LOLcats in a Captcha Challenge.
Everybody knows about LOLcats, even though it’s several years old, by now. Well, I think everybody knows: it’s basically funny pictures of cats, originally started on the website icanhazcheezburger.com. Weird name for a website, eh? But it makes sense if you know it’s named after the caption for one of the first LOLcats pictures, in which the cat asks, “I can haz cheezburger?” The spelling and grammar are horrible, but hey, that’s because they are cats!

Sorry. I don't know that website. I can tell you I would rather find it in my Captcha that that crazy Progressive lady. I have to keep my sound off for that, but normally I keep asking for a new Captcha until she disappears. Every time I see here I'm more convinced not to switch to Progressive.

Everybody on the Internet loves cats it seems!

I once googled "the internet is ruled by cats", and there were literally hundreds of thousands of results. Now, I'm sure that some of those results are only marginally related to my search terms and some hits are probably repetitive, but the results did include a large number of different articles by people either describing the phenomena or offering scientific explanations for it. Personally, I love it - I always enjoy a good cat meme!

I'm sure Guiness the Black would have something to say about the spelling and grammar capabilities of the felines on that site. He doesn't seem to be too challenged by such things himself, as I have yet to spot a single howler in any of his posts.

Perhaps we should tag Guiness's human so he can take part,

Yeah true. Guin is an intelligent and human-friendly cat, but he does need his Chief Slave and Tin Opener In Chief to alert him to the fact that he's being talked about!

Oh, me too. We have two cats, and they are just like our kids!

Yeah, it helps that I usually have my speakers off!

It's funny how that shakes out--if you only watched TV, you would think dogs are the most popular, but online, the cat is king. Says something about demographics, I think!

One of my favorite quotes about technology is the one that says "In my pocket I have a device that can access every fact in the history of the world known to mankind... I use it to look at pictures of cats and argue with strangers." That sums it up, right there.

"Guiness the Black" is a badass name, too-sounds like a knight or a pirate!
GemOfAGirl wrote on March 8, 2015, 5:17 PM
That's a favorite quote of mine, too.

I don't mind the Progressive captchas (my speakers are usually off), especially if they earn the site money, which will help me pay my State Farm bill.

This is Guiness the Cat. Of course they do, AngelSharum . Nothing personal against German Shepherds, but cats are just too cute.

Dear GemOfAGirl -
2Of course the internet is ruled by cat. There are reasons for that, and we planned and orchestrated every one of them.

This is Guiness the Cat. Of course I have perfect spelling and grammar, not to mention a pretty awesome vocabulary. Before I came to live with my current executive assistant, my former maid was an English teacher.

This is Guiness the Cat. I'm thinking more along the lines of a knight in shining armor. Although pirate works, too. Either way, I'm a handsome swashbuckler, which is pretty accurate.

Pirate works. Yeah, even knight in furry purring armor would work. And I know an editor and proofreader hereabouts who would love to take you on if you choose to travel away from OldRoadsOnceTraveled at any time. Literary ladies must have cats who approve of the same, and my friend has been Chief Tin Opener to a line of literary cats in her long and illustrious career so far. She even contributes to a page called Proofreading Cats where felines with an eye for spelling errors and grammatical howlers are lovingly adored by their Chief Tin Openers.

This is Guiness the Knight in Furry Purring Armor. Sorry, my current Chief Tin Opener is about all I can afford. Besides, she's a good shot giver, and that's kind of a deal breaker for a diabetic kitty.
