Freedom writers
Last Saturday (Philippine time) around 12:30 midnight, I cannot sleep yet, so, I decided to watch a movie from a DVD player. What I picked was a story about an English teacher for freshmen in Wilson High School in Long Beach, California. The story entitled Freedom Writers that was based on a true story of Ms. Erin Gruwell and her students at Room 203. Her students involved in different gangs that no teacher wanted to teach them. At first, she tried her best to teach about Homer story the Odyssey even if the students were not listening. At first day, she wanted to give up but she did not. She created different innovations to make her students inspire. And to make a long story short, the students change from being bad in the society into goodness that respected. One of the innovations she did. She asked her students to write a story about themselves in a form of a diary . At the end of the story, Ms. Gruwell, compiled their stories and later on published as Freedom Writers Diary. I am very inspired of the story and if there will be a chance, I will share this story to my coworkers in the field of academe.

While the story was lovely, the job was so difficult that the teacher quit after the first and only year. Thank you for sharing such a nice review. The book is interesting. I've got a copy in my classroom.

This sounds like a very good money. I think I heard about it before, but I haven't seen it yet. Thanks for reminding me about this movie!
