It's a Purrfect Caturday! by Guiness the Cat

Hello, this is Guiness the Cat.

It's a purrfect Caturday in the spring, and it's all about me!

Yes, I know I was just saying it was winter, and then it was summer, and then it was winter, and now it's spring. All in one week. It's Georgia. Get over it. It's spring. Today, anyway.

I took Debbi outside for a nice photo shoot a few minutes ago. It's a balmy 59 degrees with not a cloud in the blue, blue, very blue sky. Some of the jonquils are just beginning to bloom. The rest are just about to.

I wish I had the energy to match the weather, but it's a perfect day to lay out on the driveway and soak in all that sunshine. In fact, I think I'll ditch the computer for awhile and go back outside.

It's too pretty to be famous today.

Sincerely, Guiness the Cat

How lovely. So you did survive the rain? Good!

You don't have to be famous to be pretty, Guin. You can just be a cat, lying there soaking up the sun. And us humans will still find you irresistible. (You owe me a purr at least for that, pleaseandthankyou.)

This is Guiness the Cat sending you bunches of purrs. You completely get the whole cat thing.

This is Guiness the Cat. So glad to see that big bright thing up in the sky!

Dear Guiness - It's Mildred the Cat. You are looking mighty handsome in your photo shoot. It looked like spring here where I live also, sunny and bright and no snowstorms this weekend for a change. Unfortunately, the outside temperature barely reached 30 degrees. Purrs and smooches sent to you!

Guiness, would it be wrong to point out that winter (mild as it is in your area) may not be wholly finished?

We are having hints of spring, but we're definitely not finished with winter yet either.

Glad you enjoyed the day. We were out and about as well.

It was a pretty day here also but not that nice. I am glad you were able to get out

Oh, how I envy cats sometimes. I wish I had a day in which all I had to do was lie on a sunlit area and do...nothing.

Dearest Mildred the Beautiful,

You're so sweet. Wish you could have been here today. It was a repeat of yesterday, except even warmer. But all good things must end, and there is rain and clouds in the forecast every day next week. You could have snorted jonquil bulbs with me. (Debbi kept asking me why I kept doing that. Silly human.)

I think we've turned the corner on the 30 degree weather, though. But you never know.

Sincerely, your handsome prince, Guiness the Cat.

This is Guiness the Cat. It would not be wrong of you, but it would be unpleasant. We have been known to have late cold snaps that killed all the spring blooms.

This is Guiness the Cat. Enjoy it before the rain comes back. Sigh.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 9, 2015, 12:47 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. I was pretty insistent about it.

This is Guiness the Cat. All humans rightly envy cats.

Guiness, I'm glad God finally fixed your outside so you could enjoy it again. May the warm weather continue.

It's a purrfect Caturday to lie in the sun! Oh, what fun, to lie in the sun! (Okay, I'm still in the Dr Seuss mood)

This is Guiness the Cat. I think it's supposed to stay warm for awhile but cloudy. There's a chance of rain everyday this week.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 9, 2015, 11:50 AM

This is Guiness the Cat. You can Seuss all you want, but I am NOT going to wear a hat.

You could always coax the rain to head out to Southern California where the sun has been vacationing. We can trade for a while...

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on March 10, 2015, 8:13 PM

This is Guiness the Cat. I don't have a license to drive. Would you mind bringing the sun back and picking up the rain while you're here?
