so i'm looking to add on to my office wear. we don't have uniforms in the office although i very much prefer to have one. we don't even have a 'dress code' and people come in as they please. back then, you'd see people in shirts, shorts, and flip flops. they look like they'll be lounging in the beach rather than sit in a desk and do work. lol!
anyway, we started implementing some sort of dress code, no sandals, no torn jeans, no shirts with loud and offensive designs. some started coming in business casual or smart casual. right now everyone seems to be contented coming in shirts, jeans, and casual shoes. now, i do come in shirts and jeans when i work in the weekends. this might change though because our boss comes in during weekends as well. he's the owner of the company and he comes in dressed like he's going to play golf. no problem there, after all, he is the boss and the owner so he can come into work in any type of clothes he wants.
anyway, i might come to work on weekends wearing a more business casual type of wardrobe. polos and a nice pair of slacks or chinos will do. dress shoes and no sneakers for me during the weekends. now, weekdays is an altogether different matter. i come into the office wearing an office attire. suits, ties, cuff links, tie clips, the works. think of the people in the show 'suits' and 'neal caffrey' in the series 'white collar'. sometimes i rock a 'barong tagalog' , the stylish ones mind you.
anyway, i was looking at getting two more 'barong tagalogs' , a cardigan, a knitted long sleeve v-neck sweater, and a couple more button down long sleeves polos. i usually frequent a certain shop as they carry the brands i prefer plus i have a frequent shopper card wherein i get really nice perks, discounts, and add-ons. i went to the shop over the weekend and i really didn't see anything that i like. they have the items in my list but nothing really that tickled my fancy. i'm buying what i need, so i might as well buy something that i like as well. i decided to visit another shop and lo and behold, they had the first two items in my list and i particularly like what they have. thing is, i don't have a discount card for this one, in fact they don't have a customer card at all. so my question for the board is, do you prefer to shop in stores wherein you have a discount or loyalty card so you can avail of their promotions and discounts? what sort of store would you like to have a discount card for? plus how much of a determinant will it be if you have a discount card to actually purchase exclusively from a particular store?
feel free to chime in my fellow PPers. cheers and happy weekend everyone!!!
