Keeping Fit
I was wondering what everyone does to keep fit and if you have any suggestions about how to increase lung capcity, but there are a few issues for me here...
I am trying to regain my previous level of fitness to go back to competitive show jumping (horse riding). This requires an extreme amount of high fitness level in both strength and stamina and lung capacity. I am riding horses as much as I can at the moment. In the long run it's not enough, but it's a good start. I am also doing pilates, yoga, and some walking.
The issues I'm running into is that I've been having issues with my knees for the last year, so I can't do anything cardio that is high impact, such as running. Cycling and cross trainers are a no go too, I've tried them. The best thing I found was swimming, but since I moved I don't have access to a swimming pool.
So if any of you are fitness experts and have some suggestions on how I can build my lung capcity so I can endure hard physical activity over a fairly long period without needing much of rest, please share. It would be greatly appreciated.
