Facebook: Love it or Hate it

Some people love , and some people hate it. I’m torn. I love the fact that I can find old friends that I’ve lost touch with over the years and catch up with them.

I hate it, because I find it way too intrusive. I don’t like the fact that it’s so easy for others to stalk someone. I don’t like everyone knowing my business. I don’t like that so many things can be connected online so easily.

I’m also not a fan of only being allowed one account and having to use your real name. What if you want a business account and you don’t want it connected to your personal account? Maybe I don’t want strangers from all over the world who might visit my blog to see the photos some of my friends insist on posting from when we were younger. I thought I had heard that they were doing away with the real name thing.

Facebook, like anything else has both pros and cons. Since it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere anytime soon, I guess I’ll have to figure out how I want to use it. So far, I only “friend” people that I actually know, not every friend of a friend of a friend. I guess I’ll just it for personal stuff, and I will instead use other for blogging and such.

So tell me, do you love it or do you hate it? Are you on Facebook all the time? Do you post anything and everything? Who do you friend?

I am still a fb holdout. I'd like to utilize it for business, but there are other avenues.

I have an active FB account. For some good reasons, I love using it daily.

I love facebook but there are a few drawbacks. I think you just need to be aware that what you write can be seen by anyone on your friends list. Furthermore anything you write can have a screen shot of it and shown to people who aren't on your friends list. I saw just don't post anything you would not want everyone else to know. I love being able to interact with friends I do not get to see very often. I didn't like the fact that I had to use my real last night either. I also only add friends that I actually know in person. There are too many creepy people out there.
