My First Flight.

I have never flown on a airplane before. To be honest I never had a desire to travel by airplane. Then I met this wonderful woman from the Philippines and she means the world to me. So you can say things have changed. In July I will be flying to the Philippines to spend a couple of weeks with her, the family and some of her friends. My first flight will be over 20 hours total in the air and some people say that sounds crazy. Yeah, sure I might not like it who knows or I might love it. I know one thing for sure, when you find true love, you will do anything to be with that person. The thought of being in the air so long doesn't sound to appealing but its something that must be done. I guess i'm here rambling on to hear any tips people might have for this type of travel. Not just the airplane but the length of it. Because you know its over 20+ hours there and another 20+ hours back. I would appreciate any advice you might have.

I've done a lot of traveling by airplane, but never 20 hours on a single flight. I usually do a lot of sleeping. Still, 20 hours is a lot!

I ride a plane twice and that is for a few minutes only. Hope you can sit besides the window to enjoy the view. Just relax and if ever you are going to have a problem in your ears because of turbulence, try to bring a candy you can chew -- it helps. God bless. Hope you will have a great time with her, and I hope that God will guide you safely going back and forth.

Yes, I will take your candy advice. Thanks for the blessing on the being save back and forth. She will be the one flying over here at the end of the year. It's a long wait but one that is worth it.

Yes, she is more then worth it. I would fly around the world as long as it takes for my soul-mate!

I have a trick I do when there´s turbulence. I imagine I´m being carried on the back of a huge swan and it´s doing the same thing as a young horse bucking a little bit, only bird style equivalents, which would be diving and veering around the sky. I imagine myself holding the reins and telling the swan to calm down. I hope you enjoy your flight, knowing you are going to see someone you have fallen for will help a lot.

I ride a plane many many times but just inside the hangar. Haha kidding. I worked in aviation but haven't travelled out of the country. :) Goodluck
