Philippines: Globe versus Smart Mobile Internet

I just remembered the time I dialled *143# to check STATUS of my GoSurf 299 subscription but I pressed the wrong button on my iPhone (reference to my previous post entitled "Touch Phones"). I find it silly for companies to have an unsubscribe option for PREPAID users when you actually paid for it. Who is crazy to waste money? Are you? From that day I don't use *143# anymore. I just send keywords via SMS to 8888 when subscribing and checking STATUS to avoid the same mistake. Now, I dialled SMART *121# to see if they also have an Unsubscribe or Stop or Cancel Subscription option and found NONE. Great! What happened to Globe Telecom? I was a Globe user (Call and SMS) for more or less 10 years when I was in Manila and loved it but this time I'd prefer SMART Communications because its signal is better in my current location and most of all I haven't spent P300 in a day unintentionally because they have NO prepaid unsubscribe option. LOL Another great thing I found about SMART network is -- when subscribed to more than one promo they debit the unlimited subscription or the one which will expire FIRST so it's just fine to have multiple subscriptions at a time. With Globe, I tried SuperSurf 200 (surf-all-you-want for 5 days) while subscribed on GoSurf 99 or 299 (per data 30 days validity) and guess what... SUPERSURF was totally WASTEd! Sad! To those who are using GLOBE Mobile Internet, please share your ideas how to save some cash for using it. I only know how to waste. LOL With SMART Mobile Internet, here's what I do to save some pesos using non iOS nor Android phone: (1) I always subscribe to MEGA 250 with 100 data mb free valid for 30 days. (2) I register ON 20 or ON 30 while there is still some data remaining from the 100 free mb above so it would expire same time with MEGA 250. Isn't it practical? Back to Globe SuperSurf and GoSurf, I noticed when subscribed to SuperSurf it's super slow! SUPERSURF = SUPERSLOW. Gosh! So, I'd rather subscribe to GoSurf when using GLOBE Mobile Internet.

Thank you for that info. Actually what I love about smart is it is easy to used, and you can text everyone in any network with affordable price, but I am trying to support globe too, because it is our own product. Heheheh, but smart got the more cheaper price, and many of my friends are using smart, so they don't reply on my globe number. Lol! But I hope globe will find its way. we can't let them down... because it is ours.

When I read your post about telecommunication, I keep thinking about the share price of these companies. Many investors like to invest in telecommunication because of loyal customers, like you, who stick to a same company for ten years.

I am a SMART user but since hubby is a GLOBE one I did apply for a Globe postpaid, I still keep my SMART sim because I am more comfortable using it and its better than globe.
