Stuff

You know technology is a great thing but it is also a pain in the arse when it doesn't work. In my musical life I am loving the fact that I can record high quality music right in my own basement but when the system malfunctions and you can't figure out what the bleep is wrong with it it can get super annoying. But the alternative is spending 1000's on getting the music professionally mastered which is definitely not in my budget. So I love technology but get frustrated with it so easily as well. I haven't bought recording equipment in some time but I guess it's time to update some of my gear, but let me tell you that's hard to budget for. I have all of these musical idea's but I am hindered by this technological obstacle. Ah well I guess everyone has to go through it, unless your well off and can pay people to take care of the hassle. I can't get to upset though because we ended up having a great recording day! The music remains tight now if only we had a singer. Like I've stated in previous posts I can hack it but I know our music would be taken to the next level if we had the right voice behind it. Either way it is exciting as we continue this journey. If you are interested in listening to some of the music we have made just search for "thirteen days" in soundcloud, reverbnation or facebook.

I think you are right. Even in just maintaining your laptop and to protect all the file you have recorded in there. It is really hard to get a person who can maintain it in a proper way, I mean sometimes you pay but we are still not satisfy with the outcome. I hate it when my laptop is not working right because time is running, and with all the internet speed hassle my life is at messed. God bless.

I would be interested to know what technology you use as I want to do some recording.

I use garage band with an M-audio interface that has pretty much crapped out on me - so i will be looking at getting a new audioface, i am currently looking at the Akai EIE-IO Pro USB Audio Interface and I will continue using the basic garageband software - You don't need high quality software to make good music and that goes with any musical equipment, you just need the basics and some motivation!

Yea right now its down to the guitarist and me. Everyone else left but we know we can count on each other and its definitely nice to be able to rely on at least someone. I have often changed positions in the band just to keep it alive and every time it fell apart. But what makes me proud is the fact that we keep going on because its a belief in what we have being a good thing.
