Streets of Ice

While preparing myself for the day, I heard a car spinning out, so I popped my head out the front door. There was a neighbor, in his car, after having left his driveway, trying to drive off on our street. Overnight, it seems, temperatures must have dipped incredibly low because his tires could not get any traction and they were just spinning and spinning on the icy street until they finally caught and he was able to head off to work.

Just after that, a pickup truck came through the neighborhood and also spun out on our street. I really hate that sound now! Of course, there's nowhere to crash since there are just mountains of snow everywhere! I haven't heard any other vehicles since then.

I'd been planning to go out and run some errands, but I think I'll wait until the sun melts a little of the ice on the street. My needs can wait a little longer, I think! lol

I did a ton of damage to my SUV years ago when one of those snowbanks turned hard as a rock. Winter stinks.
