Lady Gaga finds her authentic self!

In the early days of Lady Gaga, I must admit that I saw her as just another "Madonna wannabe", and I didn't pay much attention. And then I heard a few of her songs on the radio, and I heard something special in that voice of hers. I learned that I liked listening to her as long as I didn't have to see the ridiculous outfits and wigs. Eventually, I even learned to put up with those. I guess you could say that she grew on me. I began to think less and less that she was trying to model Madonna in any way at all.

And then she teamed up with Tony Bennett, someone I have long admired and loved. From seemingly out of nowhere, Lady Gaga seemed to grow as an entertainer. Suddenly, he was a legitimate singer with huge pipes and a larger presence.

At the Oscars, she really came into her own while doing a medley of songs from The Sound of Music. When Julie Andrews came onto the stage with tears in her eyes, that told me all I needed to know. Lady Gaga has turned a huge page in the book of her career. I wonder if her name will ever change to reflect it!

Frankly speaking, I don't like Lady Gaga. I don't know why she is so popular.

Her voice is truly incredible. If you had seen her at the Oscars in a gorgeous gown, no masks and no charade, just herself and her voice, you would see her differently. I think.

I'm with you - she has really grown on me. I must admit that some of her songs are really very catchy.

She really does have tremendous talent. I do enjoy her work and I must find that CD of hers which is in my car. Off to hunt.
