The Importance of Good Article Titles
An article might be very interesting or just simply fun to read, but how do you get readers to your articles? By creating a good title that gives a glimpse into the article.
A title that is too vague will decrease the number of readers. For example, if you are writing about how to grow tomatoes, your title should be more than just "Tomatoes". "How to Grow Tomatoes" would be perfect. Anyone interested in growing tomatoes will be instantly drawn to your article.
Are you a great cook who loves to post recipes? Bring more readers in by making your title clear. If you are posting about a cookie recipe, make your readers drool when they first see the title. An example of a good title for a cookie recipe would be "Easy and Delicious Peanut Butter and Chocolate Cookie Recipe".
On the flip side, you don't want a title to be so long that it tells the reader as much as your article does. You want to retain a little mystery.
Think about how titles draw you in to read certain books. Would you be more likely to read a book titled "Farm" or "The Mysterious Farm in Walnut Grove"?
A title, just like an advertisement, is a marketing tool to draw your readers in. Make sure your title and article are suited to each other.

Excellent tips, and over time with a good title and a good introduction paragraph you can hopefully get more traffic from the search engines too.

Good advice. Sometimes I spend almost as much time trying to think of a title as I do writing the article. I love titles with a twist on a song, a nursery rhyme or a cliche. They always draw me in! :)

I am with you on this in that even blogs could find a place on the Net if the title is attractive with effective keywords.
