The Oscars Being Televised... Everywhere?
Two dogs and one cat draped over me, I am semi-watching the red carpet before the beginning of the Oscars. (Gotta say, it's hard to type this way...)
It's amazing that this show is being broadcast all over the world, no matter the time of day. But I have a difficult time watching it as it unfolds, so I record it (and other award shows) to see later - happily skipping the ads. Generally the films or actors I hope to win, don't, so I won't have to feel disappointed in the moment. And I can also skim through the cringe-worthy incidents. Oops, they're about to start... Wow, gorgeous set! And time to go exercise!
I wonder how many blogging here watch the yearly pomp and circumstance.

Of course not, lol! But my son is an actor/musician/filmmaker, and many of his and our friends work in different areas of "show business" so I feel obliged to "keep up". I also love movies and always have... But current award shows often make me cringe...

We recorded the pre-show just to see the dresses (some really gorgeous ones), but don't watch the Oscars anymore.

I caught some of the red carpet and will watch the Oscars later this week, fast forwarding through most of it, I'm guessing.

I used to watch every year when I was young. I kept up with all the latest films, etc. But as I never go out to the movies and see them only years later on television and am so completely out of the loop when it comes to films, I just don't bother anymore.

I didn't watch it, but listened from my office. Yes, it was televised live here in New Zealand too.

Our son is an actor/filmmaker/musician so I guess we will always try to keep up with what's going on in "the biz" ...

That is amazing to me! The way the world is tied together that night each year... Films have such powerful influence on our lives.

Yes it is a very exciting event and you get to see the cream of Hollywood.
