Game of Thrones Ep 9 - spoiler alert
If you haven't seen last Sunday's episode of Game of Thrones yet then stop reading now as I don't want to spoil anything for anyone. With the usual style of the show, episode 9 was pretty epic and major, just like it was in the previous seasons. This episode focuses entirely at The Wall when the wildlings attack it and the Night's Watch, who are outnumbered by thousands to one. Here we see Jon Snow rise to the occassion taking a comanding role in his determination to hold the wall. There is a lot of gore, blood, and death in this hour long battle scene. The Night's Watch commander is killed. Pyp suffers a particularlly horrific death and Sam rises to the occassion. Jon Snow's love, Ygritte, who when they last met tried to kill him and led her kinsmen to believe she wanted to kill him, had her arrow pointed at him but couldn't release it. At this point the little boy who operated the wall lift killed her in what was a heartbreaking scene for Jon. While the episode was not as shocking as last season's Red Wedding, it was still excellent. I'm really looking forward to the season finale next week, and as usual this brilliant show is over for the year far to quickly.

That was quite an episode. Different to have the show focus on just one character for a change. But it was really well done, and an extremely important turning point in the series.

Definitely. I haven't gotten that far in the books, so I'm looking forward to what comes next.
