Good morning or whatever part of the day it is for you. Today is Sunday February 22, 2015. The temperature is 56.8°F and the humidity is 78% at 5:38 a.m. PST (-8 GMT). Weather Underground shows sustained winds at 0 with gusts of 2.2 mph. It was partly cloudy when I stuck my head out this morning. A single star shone back at me. There were rumors of overnight rain and we saw dark clouds last night, but I saw no evidence of rain this morning. Weather Underground is predicting a 60% chance of precipitation and a high of 62 today. Poor little Gremlin kitty will be miserable.
Mr. Siduri’s mom is home from the hospital. She seemed well, but weakened. What her cardiologist concluded happened was that the nitroglycerin she took for her chest pain dropped her blood pressure too low, causing the dizziness. She has a replacement heart valve that has outlasted its projected usefulness. It’s narrowed so the heart can’t quite pump all the blood it might. They won’t replace the heart valve because she probably wouldn’t survive the surgery due to her age and frailty.
On the one hand, I’ll glad this trip to the hospital was short and that this was nothing life threatening. On the other hand, this is just another chronic problem and another weakness that saddens me. She is a pleasant person to be around and frankly, I couldn’t ask for a better mother-in-law.
My sister in California took my sister who’s visiting from Alaska down to their vacation home in Mexico. It’s in the middle of nowhere. I hope they’re enjoying themselves. It’s got to be a radical change for my sister from Alaska. She initially came down because she was told that her father was dying. Turned out to be a case of, well, premature extreme unction so she’s treating her time down here as a vacation. Her father’s family put her in such panic that she bought a one-way ticket and I bet she spent a pretty penny. The last I talked to her, she’d decided to stay another week. Her husband may get a little annoyed fairly soon.
So. The wedding is less than a month away. How do people who have big weddings do it? The only reason Mr. Siduri and I just didn’t go to the courthouse was that we were thought it would be nice to have a party with friends and family. And this will be this first time all four of the kids in my family have been together for I don’t know how many years. But even for a small wedding like this (35 people) there are 1000 details. I’m ready for it to be over.
Thanks for reading. Hope you and yours are all well and happy. Hope the day brings you good things.
