Hot, hot, hot
Sunday, February 22nd 2014. It is 4.19 in the evening and the temperature is 35C. 35? Yeap. it is actually 35C and is is just too hot over here. I feel the heat is just about making it impossible to do anything. I feel so lethargic and lazy. My eyes are smarting and my lips feel dry.
Drinking a lot of water should help but the seems to be winning the battle. Tried to lie down in bed but even the bed seems so hot.Oh, for just a little rain and I should be happy. I imagine it is snowing in many parts of the world. Oh, for a little snow. just a little bit.
My poor cats have taken refuge in the garden. The shady trees would probably be their sanctuary until it hopefully gets cooler at dusk. My plants are all withered and has to be watered everyday.
The only good thing is that I am able to do my laundry without complain. There is nothing like washing and drying the sheets on the lines under the hot sun. It dries beautifully and smells so clean. I do love to dry my pillows and blankets too during this period to get rid of any moisture trapped in it.
Just read in the newspapers today that the dams are running low and we may face a water shortage. Miserable. water is so essential during this warm weather and to limit it would be painful. There is nothing like standing under cold shower in this weather. I will have to begin storing enough drinking water in case there is going to be disruptions. Sigh. I really do pity those who have to work outdoors. It must be terrible.
How is the weather in your countries? We complain when it is too hot and when it is too cold. When we live in a hot tropical country, we envy those who live in the colder regions. Those who are experiencing the cold would probable be dreaming of the tropics. Such is the way of the world. the grass on the other side is always greener.
