Smooch the Cat Feels the Heat
Smooch the Cat is getting old now. Although no one is sure of his exact age, he must be about fourteen, not bad for a cat. He's definitely slowing down. Here in our New Zealand summer he is feeling the heat. It's usually winter weather that affects him, but he's showing obvious signs of discomfort this summer. The heat leaves him off his food and this adds to his lethargic manner. I'm finding it best lately to put his food out late at night, when he comes in while we're sleeping and eats his meal then. During the day he can usually be found somewhere outside, on the lawn in a shady spot, or under a bush in the garden. I understand his discomfort as I've been feeling the heat this summer as well. Maybe, like Smooch the Cat, I'm getting older too.

Poor wee bubbins. Do you not normally run air conditioning? My Naomi loves the heat, but Spencer has a lot of fur and likes to keep cooler. Sometimes he lies on the nice, cool slate in front of the fireplace.

Poor Smooch. I bet the weather is hard on an older kitty. Our pup is a breed made for snow, ice and cold, so she really suffers in the summer months.

I can feel that too. I am wondering why. :)

Ar conditioning units are only now becoming more popular in New Zealand. We like windows open and fresh air here

But I imagine your pup has been enjoying the winter?
