What a mauling by Kiwi players

The cricket team simply flattened the English team today in the , Group A match.

Even as a neutral observer, I truly felt sorry for the English team as the Kiwi players were almost brutal in their batting, bowling and fielding but as a fan, I am all admiration for the New Zealand squad.

A match which normally comprises of 100 overs (50 overs to each side) was finished in 46 overs in which the English batsmen batted for about 33 overs to be all out at 123. This score was easily achieved by Kiwi players within 13 overs at a strike rate of 10 runs per six balls.

It was less of a cricket match and more of a mauling from players actually, especially who scored a 50 in just 18 balls. It would be interesting to see how English recover from such a heavy defeat and how other teams now give respect to the New Zealand team.

New Zealand have already played 3 matches out of their 6 group matches and defeated Sri Lanka, Scotland and England by big margins Personally i don’t think Bangladesh and Afghanistan will give them any trouble. The only team that might give the Kiwi squad a tough time may be .

I love reading comments by cricket fans on website and just to get a little taste of the match if you did not see it, read these comments from the fans there:

Ashwini Kumar: "Serious violation of human rights by McCullum! Geneva Protocol please."

dougal: "Kiwis so aggressive they are making the Aussies look like friendly guidance counselors!"

Kasun: "If this was a classroom McCullum will be suspended for bullying."

Haha. Great team work, New Zealand. I am sure this is one match valmnz is watching with her eyes peeled emoticon

I did not watch this match as I want to preserve my energy for tomorrow - India and S. Africa. That must have been a pretty poor show by the English.

Kiwi players must have trained very hard for this match.

Those comments were pretty funny, but yes, I also feel sorry when one team gets stomped completely flat by another, even if it's my favorite team that's doing the stomping!

I am not much of a sports fan but I love sports in the sense that it promotes camaraderie and sportsmanship.
