Work With a Side of Procrastination

I just wrote a whole post about how I was procrastinating when I have work to do, but I just realized I am not that far from my daily quota, so now I need to re-write my post before actually posting it haha. It should have been posted about an hour ago, but I was having browser issues, and then I actually got wrapped up in my work.

I have been procrastinating quite a bit today. I would finish up a few assignments and then wind up on other websites (i.e., social media). I had to remind myself that I have work to do, and the quicker I finish, the quicker I can surf the 'net without worrying about getting my work done.

My client put up several higher paying assignments today, which really helped with getting close to my quota. I do wish I hadn't procrastinated earlier, as I could have finished earlier and possibly taken extra assignments. I have set a cut-off time for 10:30pm, which I do not always follow, but try to follow on most days. If I play my cards right, I can finish my work before my cut-off time. I love working from home as a freelance writer, but unfortunately, there are some days where my motivation is not where it should be or my mind is someplace else...which results in my procrastination.

I do have a direct assignment from my client that isn't due for another few days, and doesn't pay as high as the work they put on the job board. I do not need to do it tonight in order to meet my quota. Once I am finished with my work, I am going to take another job and save that and the direct assignment for tomorrow's batch of work, so that will give me a small head start. :)

Anyways. I'm going to go finish up these last few assignments. You all have a great evening -or day if your timezone is different- and take care. :)

Procrastination isn't so bad; we need a little dose of down time between chores to recharge.

Good luck I hope you get it all done. I am terrible when it comes to procrastinating. Facebook is a very bad distraction for me. I jump on to just do one thing and then I'm there for an hour before I realize all the time I have wasted.

I do this every single day... procrastinate!!! LOL!

I do think that procrastination gets a bad rep, I mean we really don't expect to hurry scholars or works of art right? LOL!

Procrastination is definitely difficult to fight off sometimes. But, as long as things get done, that is the important thing.

I'm horrible with procrastination. I do it daily on the job, at home, everywhere. Just a curiosity question: If you don't mind my asking, what kind of money do you actually make with all your writing assignments? I'm not about to start such things, but I see so many, in here especially, who do this and I can't help but wonder just how much one gets paid.

True, but I cannot get caught up in it too much, as I have deadlines to meet.

Thanks! Twitter is a bad one for me, so I need to start signing in just to share my posts, and then sign right back out. I waste too much time on a website that only allows us to interact in 140 characters or less.

LOL, true! But there are days where I waste more time than necessary. I need to just get my work done, and then I can waste time later haha. :p

That's true. Thanks to the higher paying assignments, and finally buckling down, I was somehow able to finish my work by the cut-off time I set for myself (10:30pm).

The pay varies per assignments, but I try to make at least $100 a week. I've done work at both low and high prices, but I write every Monday through Friday, usually taking between five and ten assignments, depending on the pay, my own schedule, topics (sometimes I grab extra assignments because they're interesting), etc. I have had a weekly client for about 2 1/2 years, and sometimes I take work from other clients, and they put work up on a job board and sometimes send it to me directly. The websites - Zerys and Textbroker - are basically the middle man and make sure you get paid for your work. I get paid through PayPal. The work has instruction, deadlines, etc. - but it pays. I hope that helped. :)

ViperGirl85 Sometimes I think procrastination is my middle name. I know the feeling. And my mind also wanders from one thing to another. I might be in the middle of writing a post and stop because something popped into my mind. And I go with that. Like maybe looking something up online. But I do eventually get back to writing my post.

EXACTLY. I'll be in the middle of working, then suddenly I'm wandering the house looking for food, looking through the channels or on Twitter, then I'm like "NOOOO. BACK TO WORK YOU GO." Unless I'm seriously hungry, because I cannot write on an empty stomach. But you know what I mean. I always get back into it, but sometimes my brain gets bored of doing one thing for a while.
