Mystery Photo Puzzle Solved: Bird on a Bridge to a Bridge

The cable the bird is perched upon is helping to support this pipe bridge over the Salinas River in Paso Robles. I liked the view of the bridge from this place, but I chose the wrong time of day to get the shot I really wanted. I kept getting sun spots in the photos, but finally got this photo without them. The perspective makes the bridge, which spans the entire river, seem shorter than it really is.

I took the photo.

I see this bridge often as I walk the riverbed. It normally is a dry riverbed, so everyone walks in it and many bring their dogs along. I hope they clean up after them, since many folks get their drinking water from that river, which does sometimes actually get water after the rains. It's normally just subterranean. Even motor vehicles that enjoy driving in sand use the riverbed as a road, but I think it's illegal.

The photos below show the river with water in it and the bridge from two other perspectives – looking toward it and looking up at it.

I took the photo.

I took the photo.

Well, I wasn't too far off and, honest, I didn't look at the answer first emoticon  what lovely photos you've taken here.

This is Guiness the Cat. I could have told you the answer had I known it.

Thank you. If I had't taken the photo myself and known the area, I would not have been able to guess it.

That's not surprising, Guiness.

I´m pleased I now know the answer. I would never have guessed correctly in a million years.

I have been out of the loop for the past week or so, so I missed the original query picture--liked these a bunch though!

If I had not taken the pictures, I wouldn't have been able to guess either.

Glad you're back, and glad you like the photos.

I wonder if that bird thinks it's helping to hold up the bridge.

I have never seen a pipe bridge before. What is being carried threw the pipe? The photos are great because you know i love the tree branches but am curious about the pipe bridge. Somedays i am a little blonde not knowing these things.

I don't think so. It didn't stay very long.

I'm not sure. It's either a utility bridge or it is carry water from a nearby lake to a treatment plant and then to our service districts. I know we funded a pipeline project for that lake water and the city website seemed to indicate the pipebridge was part of that delivery system.
