World Domination by Adsense Thwarted

I've spent the morning trying to sort out one of my old, abandoned, domains - not used since 2009 - that was a lot of work, including sorting out quite a number of systems errors on it.
Having got to the point where it's tidy enough to create new posts, I created 2-3 new posts and then turned my thoughts towards using Google Adsense on that domain, so I logged onto my Adsense account, all excited only to be met with the reality of the failure of my other websites to produce anything close to world domination and a great income.
When I logged into my Google Adsense account, the three Dashboard instant stats showed me a very sad state of affairs:
- DOWN 80% Yesterday, compared to the same day last week
- DOWN 8.5% over the last 7 days, compared to the previous 7 days
- DOWN 1.6% over the last 30 days, compared to the previous 30 days.
Now, all's not lost. Indeed, when you do put in some work for several days you can't expect overnight miracles to have occurred. I have to believe I can turn things round again, to an online income close to what I used to achieve!
In the short term it looks grim, but I am a Woman With a Plan! There's still a lot of work to do!

Sorry to hear that your Adsense results aren't as you expected, I cannot use Adsense since they banned me years ago.
CoralLevang wrote on February 16, 2015, 12:37 PM
I do not understand the whole monetization thing and fear that I would be banned, as Soonerdad3 was.
I do hope that things pick back up for you.

I'm sure the vagaries of Adsense ups and downs can be frustrating. Hopefully, even though today's results may be down a little, the trend will be up.

An Adsense account is something you have to guard with your life - once taken from you that's your lot.
UK_Writer wrote on February 16, 2015, 1:11 PM
It is easy to not be banned. The rules are simple: No more than 3 ads/page, no more than 3 link units/page. Some subjects are banned: e.g. pornography, violence, hate.... so, if you just write regular subjects and don't set up a page to fill it with ad slots, you're fine.
Also - never, ever, ever, click on your own ads, nor get anybody else to click them for you - which, surprisingly enough is probably the way most people get banned. They see "free money", then think they can set up a page and sit and click on it all day. Doh, dumbnuts :)

I hope so, it used to be my full-time income and I don't see why it can't get close to that again, within 3-6 months.

Never understood Adsense but one of these weekends I will have to revive my blog (currently accumulating posts in draft form so I can spring it fully fledged upon the world) so I can see if I can continue to earn the pennies there that I have done so far from my previous blog. From what you say I shall have to make sure I'm in a good mood!

I tried monetizing my blog once, but found that there were ads on it that I did not appreciate, so I deleted my association. They have control over the material I write with their "rules," but do not offer me the same jurisdiction about what ads I am willing to allow. Did not seem to be fair and reciprocal to me.
UK_Writer wrote on February 16, 2015, 1:35 PM
Put simply, once you have an account, you go into "My Ads", give your advert a title (for your own benefit), then click a button and you're shown code. Copy/paste that into your blog where you want the ad to appear and from then on, forever, they appear by magic (can take 10 minutes initially to get the code to start populating). Only "problem" the first time, for many, is working out how to get the ad into the site code and sitting correctly and looking right - but once you've done that once, you know for next time.

Adsense never worked for me. I found out why, after a few years. We'd agreed to use the actual business address of one of the founding members of the web site. Little did she know that someone else was using it. Google didn't explain the situation though; both of us found out more or less by accident.

I've never done well with AdSense. I had a business site but I had to give it up.

Here's hoping things pick up for you really soon! I've never had an account with them before

I have not tried to register myself at google Adsense but my friend told me he has been using it for five years. I am engaged though because he said there no payment issue in that site.

I am in a mess. I have yet to open an account in the sense my blog has not picked up. In fact I want to delete my blog account and start afresh but that is not happening

Good luck to you! Hopefully, your stats improve each day and you get closer to your goal of world domination! LOL!

I have to familiarize myself with that Google Adsense. I am still trying to find out how it will work for me.

This is Guiness the Cat. Personally, I am still wondering why I am missing out on the rich part of rich and famous. It's hard making a living as a writer when you're a cat, no matter how cute you are.

I don't know what the Google Adsense is .Here we can't open gmail and Google search .Hope it will soon take a turn for the better !
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 9:59 AM
You can exclude adverts from any source if you don't want them.
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:00 AM
Unsure of the actual issue there as Adsense is primarily through the bank account - but I can see that somebody at the same address could be viewed as a connected person, so suspicious to Google unless verified/explained.

It can be tough these days to get it optimised and generating an income.
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:01 AM
Well, today's income won't even buy me one can of beans so far!
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:02 AM
There is never a payment issue, they're one of the biggest companies in the world and I have never had to query any payment, nor wait for one.
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:02 AM
Don't delete it, just rework what you've got there,
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:03 AM
All three stats were down/red again today :(
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:03 AM
It's worthwhile finding out how it works and using it.
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:04 AM
Look at how well LOL Cats did. You're spending too long licking your fur until it's shiny and not enough time creating mayhem in the house.
UK_Writer wrote on February 17, 2015, 10:05 AM
Ah, you should stick to your own country's similar service then, whatever that may be. If you can't change where you live, you have to change what you do.
