Almost time to set off for England

Yes, the time has almost arrived for me to set off for the airport. Another holiday has already come to an end.

My flight is due to take off at 11 AM, which should get me into Manchester airport by shortly after 1 PM due to the difference in time zones.

It does not seem very long since I was heading for Manchester airport to fly to Málaga and now I am doing the reverse.

Hopefully this will turn out to be a better journey than the outward one because my tram was cancelled and I ended up stranded in Chorlton, from where I had to find a taxi rank.

I shall try the Metrolink again today, which at least will not be as time critical as my last attempt. With a little luck I should arrive back home before 3 PM today.

Travel is becoming quite tedious these days what with there being more cancellations than those that follow the schedule.

Hope you made good time and arrived back home earlier than you expected .

I hope you had a good flight Barry, strong winds were forecast for Malaga this weekend so maybe the take off was a bit bumpy.

Hope you make good time and get home early enough so you can relax. It is the travel issues that can stress a person out.

We were not too far behind schedule, but it went to pot when I reached Manchester.

Koalemos wrote on February 15, 2015, 3:45 PM

I was almost 2 hours later than anticipated due to the Metrolink service in Manchester.

I would rather be back in Malaga with the winds because it is nit very tropical here.

The flight was fine, but the balance of the journey was the usual farce.

Oh yes, I am now back in sunny England, but without the Sun.

That does not matter because I can stay in bed as long as I wish tomorrow.

glad you had a great break - welcome home to the greatest city on Earth

Koalemos wrote on February 16, 2015, 4:41 AM

Thank you Arthur, but it would have been greater if the Metrolink had been running.

Holidays always seem to fly over, and for some reason transport links are always rubbish in the UK, or maybe that's just been my luck.

You are not alone in that opinion because I have find the exact same thing.

Oh my ~ I haven't been to Malaga since I was 18 and spent the summer with close family friends in a villa a ways east of the town. Almost every night I and my friends would drive to Torremolinos to spend the night dancing in bodegas to Beatles cover bands. It was a blissful summer I will never forget. Thanks for jogging my memory!
