A glorious day here on the Costa del Sol

It has been rather cold and very windy for several days since I arrived in Spain, although mild enough to be comfortable and certainly an improvement on the North of England. However, much to my surprise today is very different.

When I awoke this morning the Sun was shining brightly. I went out for a stroll around for a short while, which seemed much more like the Spain I am used to. The Sun is quite strong and it is very warm outside.

You could certainly see the difference because there were many people sat outside the cafés along the sea front. Previously the outside tables were deserted with everyone sat inside, except the occasional idiot such as myself.

There is no limit to one's wants specially when it comes to visiting countries. I have been fortunate enough to have done quite a bit of it. Spain was one place I always wanted to go and so too Alaska, Sweden, Norway,................... Ever since my accident 8 years ago I have put a brake.
One thing I do not like however is the bullfights in Spain.

I am in Fuengirola, which I have visited 4 times so far.

would never go to a bullfight. This is a totally unnecessary act which still continues purely to make money from tourist.

I don't like boxing either. Nothing but sadistic joy. Ugh.....

I am not fond of boxing either, but at least the contestants have a choice. The bull has no choice whatsoever which is what makes it so barbaric.

I understand why you sat outside, I see the sun shining here too but it is about 4 degrees F so I am going to resist the temption. :)

It was cold here earlier in the week due to the tremendous winds, but with still air it is wonderful.

The train also runs into Malaga from around the corner, which I always use from the airport.

Koalemos Enjoy your glorious day, I supposse you are typing a few posts while you sit at the café enjoying yourself.

I am actually back at the apartment now and the Sun will be going down shortly.

You see to be enjoying your day. I agree with you about bull fighting. Cock fighting, dog vs bears fights etc are also very barbaric and cruel but still rampant in many parts of the world

Yes and sometimes in countries that claim to be civilised.

You would perhaps like southern California where I have lived now for decades. When I came here for art school in the late sixties, I was amazed by the similarities (weather, terrain, flora...) to the Costa del Sol.

Koalemos wrote on March 6, 2015, 2:33 PM

From what I know of california II can relate to the similarity.
