Trip to South Korea Pt. 1

In December my family and I went to South Korea for a few days before heading to our final destination, The Philippines. I had never been to Korea before, but now I can say it was indeed an interesting experience.
When we were packing, my mom kept emphasizing to us all to bring lots of layers and a good jacket because it would be cold. I love winter weather, especially after living in Texas, so I was pretty excited. But man, it was cooooold ! Even through tons of layers that became uncomfortable to wear, the cold bit!
The first night we were there it was already quite late when we had left the airport, so we just settled in at our "hotel", which was actually an apartment that the manager sublets to travelers, tourists, etc. It was small but efficient; it was a loft-style apartment and it was stocked with toiletries, furniture, sheets, etc. Plus it was actually cheaper then paying for a hotel room. We were all hungry so we went to a 24-hour Korean BBQ restaurant. It was cheap but delicious, better than the Korean food they serve in Texas, at least to me.
The next day I think we literally spent the day shopping. They have so many shopping places there. We shopped and ate. I think it was a little funny we ate Chinese food in Korea - it was extremely yummy though. We bought a lot of gifts for people in the Philippines and some for people back home. Still. So. Cold.

It sounds like a great trip. Looking forward to going to South Korea myself. Where are you staying in the Philippines? There are a lot of great vacation spots here.

I enjoyed reading about your trip to South Korea. I hope to visit Seoul and Jeju island in the future. Which places/cities did you visit during your stay in South Korea?

I would love to go to Singapore someday. I've been to the Philippines every time, it's harder for me to leave each time. I have family there

Wow, that must have been quite an experience. I have never had the chance to leave North America.
