Do we get paid for outside views on PP?

I thought we did. Why else would we share our articles on social media websites but now I am not sure any more. The reason is nowadays I am in another city where my parents live. I told my younger sister about this site and showed her my articles here. She is not registered and I did not even log in. She read about 10-12 articles and even liked a few. My bank showed 4185 coins before she started reading and when I logged in, it still shows the same amount. Her IP address is of course different so her visits should count as unique views for my posts. So does this mean outside views are not counted and there is no use sharing our posts on Social media sites.

Yes, they count. Does she have ad blocker on? If so, no they wouldn't count. You are only paid for unique views that have ad blocker disabled.

I'm with you - I thought all views counted, or what's the point. And, as the site's paid on views, not views from/on the site, then the income's there for them. I'll be disappointed if it turns out there is no point in sharing anything. Because - without outside views, what's the point at all? We'd never "get rich" on just 3-4 site visitors.

Yes we do, although I cannot imagine many people visiting the pages if they are not members.

I share certain posts on social media. The views do count. Most outside readers won't leave comments though.

They will - providing they hear rumours of our great exploits...

Yes, I was under the impression we did receive credit for outside views. But I seem comments below they must have Ad Blocker disabled. And I do think I remember seeing that mentioned before, so good to remember.

I know that outside Likes are counted, because I got on PP at the library once and read and Liked an article before I realized I wasn't signed in, yet (when I tried to leave a comment), so it stands to reason outside views are counted, too. But so many people must have ad blockers, because I never get the kind of views on my high-SEO pieces that I have published here like I did on the other sites they were on before emoticon :crying:

They count but sometimes they get collected in a cache and added later.

yeah I would assume they count although I don't think I've had any.

MaeLou You mean all the posts I read here don't get a view counted because I use ad blocker? I cannot stand the ads bouncing around my pages while I work.

MaeLou wrote on February 8, 2015, 9:59 AM

Yep, whoever uses ad blockers are not contributing to the community. You get paid through ad revenue, so when you block them, we don't get paid for that view, therefore, we cannot count it.

Outside views do count, but only if they are not using an ad blocker.

MaeLou I must see if there is a way I can exclude PP from the ad blocking. Some plug ins can be used that way. Another chore on today's list !

I have just found this page about customizing Ad Block Plus. https :// adblockplus . org / en / acceptable - ads Now to see if I can make it work for PP.
It says sites can also arrange to white-listed by Ad Block, but I'm not sure if that would work for PP.

Update - when I am on a PP page I can select from "Tools" (on Firefox) and select Ad Block Plus - then select "disable onthis page only" and voila! I see the ads.

Another update - you can select to disable ad blocking from this site specifically. That solves the problem!

I wonder how many people don't use ad blocker? That is an interesting thing to know at least.

MaeLou wrote on February 8, 2015, 2:25 PM

Yep, I use ABP too. Great little plug in :)

For a minute I was worried then relaxed after seeing MaeLou's reply. I ought to test this out soon.

I think the question has been red and solved everything. Ad is where we get revenue so when we blocked those who pays us we don't get a coin for it.. heheheh just when we block our bosses in our offices... hehehe just kidding.
