It's all About Balance

I had lunch with my oldest daughter yesterday. She made a delicious cabbage stew with sliced, toasted hoagie (sp) rolls. She made lemon cucumber water for the beverage. As she was telling me what all she put in the stew, I remembered the ingredients were all things that help balance the PH of the body.

She has always been semi-health conscious but hasn't put her knowledge into practice because her husband is very resistant to some foods. Lately her health has taken a nose dive and she is scrambling to try to put things right. Having no health insurance and very little money for anything but the basic food and shelter, she hasn't seen a doctor, but has become very conscious of what she eats even if that means preparing her meals separate from her husbands.

I was a little leery of the lemon cucumber water at first, but the taste was very refreshing. I may just try some of the various fruit/veggie waters I've seen posted on one of my Facebook friend's page.

All in all it was a very nice visit. Neither of us has been able to get out and about much in the last four months and we had a lot of catching up to do.

I'm not a fan of water, but many seem to like naturally flavored waters, lemon cucumber sounds like an interesting mix.

I'm not a great water drinker, but I do force myself to pass up the coffee pot and have water several times a day. I've tried the commercial flavored waters, but one look at the ingredient lable and I shied away from them. Fresh, home made is better.

Thanks &wolfgirl500 . They've been through the wringer the last four years and it's showing on both of them. As a herbalologist, I've tried to help them health wise, but I just don't have enough knowledge. That is my hope too.

There are some that look more apealing than others. The lemon cucumber wouldn't have been on of my first options, but it was GOOD!

I would love to try the lemon cucumber water and have a link saved where the are recipes for various cucumber water that I would love to make this summer from fresh produce. I will try to do some more research and write about it Ruby3881 . I learned a little about it during my natural health studies many years ago, but since it has never applied to me or my family before, I haven't retained very much of what I learned.
