It's all About Balance
I had lunch with my oldest daughter yesterday. She made a delicious cabbage stew with sliced, toasted hoagie (sp) rolls. She made lemon cucumber water for the beverage. As she was telling me what all she put in the stew, I remembered the ingredients were all things that help balance the PH of the body.
She has always been semi-health conscious but hasn't put her knowledge into practice because her husband is very resistant to some foods. Lately her health has taken a nose dive and she is scrambling to try to put things right. Having no health insurance and very little money for anything but the basic food and shelter, she hasn't seen a doctor, but has become very conscious of what she eats even if that means preparing her meals separate from her husbands.
I was a little leery of the lemon cucumber water at first, but the taste was very refreshing. I may just try some of the various fruit/veggie waters I've seen posted on one of my Facebook friend's page.
All in all it was a very nice visit. Neither of us has been able to get out and about much in the last four months and we had a lot of catching up to do.
