Am I Allowed to Do This?

This thought has been bothering me for hours now so I have decided to write about it here and hopefully, get answers. So here goes...

I, just like most of you guys, am a former fan of Bubblews. I do have an account with them still but hasn't made a post in weeks now. I also had some redemptions which were forfeited hence I have decided to stop writing for them and just concentrate here in PP.

I have been seeing posts by others that they have deleted their posts from Bubblews and have posted it here in PP. So I have done the same with six or maybe seven of my posts. I did edit them though, taken some stuff and then added some others.

Now my question would be this: Am I allowed to do such thing? The post in Bubblews no longer exists but I am just a bit worried. I just wanted to maybe get a confirmation from elitecodex or MaeLou that what I have done is allowed here in Persona Paper.

Any thoughts?

I don't think it is allowed. Click on the 'contact' link at the top of your profile and ask the Persona staff.

yes, I already did. Thanks johnmariow

I understand it is allowed as long as the original is already deleted. Copy/paste it to google search box if it no longer exist then it is safe to repost. But I prefer to repost my old bubbles on my own webpage/blog and just post new here. :)

It is allowed provided you have deleted those posts there. At the same time before publishing you should check if anyone else has plagiarised your posts by doing a Google search.

Removing the original content with the google url removal tool is wise as well.

MaeLou wrote on February 7, 2015, 10:23 AM

Yes, it's allowed so long as the original is NOT found somewhere else. Otherwise, it is considered duplicate content and will be deleted. You might want to make sure no one else has plagiarized it as well.

This information should be in the FAQ of what is allowed. I highly recommend taking a look at it.

Wrote a tutorial about this. Basically, this is allowed but you need to delete the post from Bubblews first then either wait for it to automatically be de-indexed by the search engines like Google or de-index it yourself using the removal tool.

I don't know... but I know they are strict in that kind of thing. But persona are very quick to address every questions we have for them. SO I guess all you have to do is to leave them a message. :) God bless.

MaeLou thanks for the immediate response. I still have one question though, when I took the first paragraph and tried it in Google, the link to Bubblews still appears but if you click the bubblews link, it would show an error that the post no longer exists. Is it ok?

Began1988 wrote on February 7, 2015, 8:23 PM

Yes as long as the post is first deleted from Bubblews, and you confirm that it is deleted (copy the url before you delete, then try to past it after you delete it). If you get an "error page" or anything that says the post has been deleted, you're good! :)

MaeLou wrote on February 8, 2015, 9:58 AM

Yep, that is fine, so long as the link to the original shows an error page or that the article doesn't exist. Eventually google will deindex the old one.

Telynor wrote on February 8, 2015, 11:14 PM

As long as you have a little statement saying that the article was first published elsewhere, and you delete the original post, everything should be fine.

I do not have any idea. I just don't post it at all, have not tried it yet.

MommyCharm wrote on February 9, 2015, 3:41 AM

Thanks so much!

MommyCharm wrote on February 9, 2015, 3:43 AM

cheri , no worries. MaeLou has already said that it's okay to post my articles from another site so long as it doesn't exist. Eventually, that bubblews link will be deindexed :)

Began1988 thanks so much, now I can finally breathe a sigh of relief :)

valmnz wrote on February 10, 2015, 12:58 AM

I can't see any point in deleting mine. I write things that are relevant to the moment, therefore they are out of date as soon as they are written. I decided to just simply move forward.

trufflehunter wrote on February 10, 2015, 1:21 AM

The plagiarists from that site is the biggest problem. Or like you said you can improve the original and repost here.

MommyCharm wrote on February 10, 2015, 3:23 AM

valmnz I feel you. However, I do have plenty of movie reviews written there (and most of them are my favourites) and I feel bad that B would still earn from my articles while I am not getting any. I'd rather take them all down. :)

snerfu wrote on February 10, 2015, 4:17 AM

Well that is nice hearing it from MaeLou and so no problems there. Happy posting.

OldRoadsOnceTraveled wrote on February 17, 2015, 12:09 AM

That's a very good idea. If someone plagiarized the original article, which you then deleted from prior site, posting it to a subsequent site would make YOU look like you plagiarized the plagiarizer.

Squidwhisperer wrote on February 20, 2015, 12:04 AM

I actually find some twisted little pleasure in googling something I wrote there only to be met with the "404" - "Page doesn't exist" - which makes its resurrection here all the more wonderful...

ViperGirl85 wrote on February 21, 2015, 11:38 PM

I have no idea if it's allowed, but I wouldn't do it, just in case.

scheng1 wrote on February 22, 2015, 8:49 AM

Before you delete your posts, you can check for plagiarism. If the post has been plagarize, you might as well rewrite everything, and leave the original there.

cheri wrote on February 24, 2015, 4:55 PM

Thanks for this update. I also want to do the same thing.
