ANIME - Category Challenge

I'm embarking on a Category Challenge and as the name of the challenge implies, it is simply writing a post in the different categories of Persona Paper. Truth be told, I had written before that I wanted to expand my PP horizons (read it here, ). Well, what better way to step it up in that matter than getting into this challenge.

So, here it is... the first category up is 'Anime'. I would have done 'Animal' but I seriously don't have an idea for it. Perhaps some other time.

Let me say that I'm not a big anime fan. I watch a handful of animes and I really don't follow any specific show. I remember watching 'Macross' when I was a kid and then later on I was a fan of 'Astroboy'. I remember 'Dragon Ball Z' was popular then but I never really got into it. My younger sister and brother are more anime fans than I am and through them I discovered more anime titles like 'Pokemon', 'Detective Conan', 'Naruto', 'One Piece', 'Slam Dunk', 'Flame of Recca', among others. Of the shows I mentioned here, I think it is only 'Pokemon' and 'Detective Conan' that I can actually sit and watch a whole episode without my mind wandering off.

Anyway, I'm sure there are die-hard anime fans out there here in the site and I'm looking for really good titles that I can watch. Do you anime guys and girls have any suggestions?

That there are no Anime fans shows in its performance in the category statistics, sadly.

Perhaps, the site can do without this category or even put this as a subcategory under TV. Just a thought.

I had given the statistics in one of my posts highlighting particularly the 2 digit posts.

Yes, I remember that post of yours.

My children watched a little of that when they were younger. I have never watched any of it. It doesn't interest me.

My granddaughter used to be really into anime art and could draw them very well. They are kinda cute but not my favorite art form at all.

allen0187 wrote on February 6, 2015, 6:52 PM

Me neither. If not for my younger sister and brother, I really won't bother watching anime.

You should make a post about your granddaughter's drawings. I bet they look great.

Detective Conan or Meitantei Conan is a good anime. Very interesting. There are lots of popular ones out there.

celticeagle wrote on February 7, 2015, 1:10 PM

I wish I could. I don't have any of them left.

allen0187 wrote on February 7, 2015, 11:34 PM

'Detective Conan' is one of the ones I'm familiar with.

I am not a fan of any anime may be because I am too old for that and I have grown up with different kinds of cartoons

allen0187 wrote on February 9, 2015, 12:46 AM

cheri what cartoons did you watch when you were a kid? Just curious.

Dawnwriter wrote on February 11, 2015, 2:39 AM

I am familiar with the names because my children used to watch Pokemon but I really do not know much about them.

allen0187 wrote on February 11, 2015, 9:46 PM

I do not know all the names of the characters in these anime shows. I'm not a big fan unlike my siblings.

I remember watching Macross too, in my youth. Hmmm...does He-Man qualify as Anime?

crowntower wrote on February 14, 2015, 7:12 AM

Wow! Astroboy is the anime of my super youth! Lol! hen Astroboy loses its power and there is no place to charge his energy... I really feel sad when I am watching his pitiful face on our television screen. Heheheh. God bless. What about Sentai? Bioman and Maskman are my favorites and are the best among Sentai series!

allen0187 wrote on February 14, 2015, 8:51 PM

I don't think 'He-Man' qualifies as anime motrojam but what do I know... LOL!

allen0187 wrote on February 14, 2015, 8:52 PM

First time that I've heard about 'sentai' crowntower but I do remember 'Bioman' and 'Maskman'.

cheri wrote on March 7, 2015, 8:25 PM

I am not a fan of anime may be because its not my generation but my kids love it.

LadyLeaf wrote on March 18, 2015, 7:37 AM

He-Man was an american product, it would qualify as a cartoon, but not an anime. It was very popular back in the day though!

CoralLevang wrote on July 26, 2015, 9:42 AM

I have never read about anime before, so decided to read all the posts in this category. I never did see the appeal of it.

allen0187 wrote on July 26, 2015, 7:05 PM

Anime is quite popular among the kids today!

allen0187 wrote on July 26, 2015, 7:06 PM

Anime doesn't appeal to everyone that much is true CoralLevang . I don't watch it often but I do see some things in anime that interests me.
