Baby Avoiding Foot Traffic
I am sitting underneath our dining room table and the tablecloth hangs quite low. It is dark under there.
I am not afraid however, because my best friend, our Scottie dog is sitting next to me.
I don't really remember much else except that it seemed quiet and relaxing to be there.
My mother had a shrill voice when she was anxious, or just busy. I am sure she was bustling around getting dinner ready. My older sister was about four and a half at the time, so she may have been in the way, not nearby, or perhaps nagging "when is dinner? I'm starving!"
I remember in later childhood years, we could have an apple after school but that was it. My mom always worried about us spoiling our dinner. At the same time she nagged me to eat more at dinner than I usually wanted to because I was a skinny kid.
She didn't have that figured out!
Anyway, that's my earliest memory. The photo is of a small but very heavy ornament, could be a door stop, that I picked up at Goodwill because it reminded me of the few Scotties we had over the years.
