Reached Eighteen Dollar Milestone

It's always motivating to see that you are getting close to payout. It makes you want to post more to get there faster. I just may do that for a while.

I remember back at the beginning of my Persona Paper journey I thought I'd never get to the five dollar mark. It took me about five months to get there when coins were less valuable and the bank barely moved on a daily basis.

When I reached five dollars, I had to decide whether to cash out right away to be on the safe side, or wait, in hopes the value of coins would go up. I knew there was also a possibility that what can go up can also come down. But by that time I had enough faith in the direction and administration of Persona Paper to wait. How glad I am that I did. On January 1, I saw my bank make a mighty jump overnight.

Now I feel like I'm within sight of my goal, which is to hit the payout threshold by the end of the month. With no other income of my own except what I do by writing and selling Zazzle, that payout will be very important. I expect to have my book business online again soon in a couple of days, but I know it will have lost momentum and will take some time to recover before sales will happen again. I will have to open the shop again today, and after that my schedule will no longer be my own again.

Meanwhile, my eyes are on the goal. I would encourage you newbies to keep at it. Keep writing and commenting and building this community and we will all reach our goals faster.

Well that is very good news. I am always excited when I have a redemption coming. :)

JeanC wrote on February 3, 2015, 2:28 PM

Congrats, I can't wait to get that close. It will be a while yet for me, I am still less that $2, but that isn't bad as I've only been here a month :D

AliCanary wrote on February 3, 2015, 2:36 PM

Wow, that's wonderful! I am sure you will make it. Great job!

valmnz wrote on February 3, 2015, 2:36 PM

How fantastic. I've been really motivated by milestone posts since joining here. Yours is definitely the furthest along that I've read. With membership growing you should reach your pay out goal by the end of the month.

nbaquero wrote on February 3, 2015, 2:55 PM

BarbRad I am really happy that your are close to the redemption mark! Hope the new members see that with dedication and patience the goals can be reached! Thanks for sharing and giving everyone a motivation boost.

That is great. I am only a little over 5 dollars now, so have a long ways to go yet

SLGarcia wrote on February 3, 2015, 3:10 PM

Good for you Barb! Being here is definitely worth it in many ways.

AngelSharum wrote on February 3, 2015, 5:00 PM

Good luck reaching payout by the end of the month.I cashed out at $5 back in December and I'm at $2 something again now.

I think you made the right choice waiting for the pay increase--and for working so tirelessly promoting the site during the lean months. You picked a winner. Thanks for bringing me on board.

cheri wrote on February 4, 2015, 4:52 AM

Very motivating to read post like this though I am still have a long long way to go to my first redemption.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:23 AM

So am I. It's been a long time since I've had one anywhere.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:24 AM

That's a really good start. You joined at the right time.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:25 AM

I will if going back to my business doesn't destroy all my posting time.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:25 AM

That would be nice. I"m glad this post encouraged you.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:26 AM

I may be a tortoise compared to some, but I will get there.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:27 AM

That's a quarter of the way. A very good start.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:27 AM

I agree. It's like my home base where I'm among friends.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:29 AM

I'm not sure when I will get there, but get there I will. You will also get there. You should have waited to cash out.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:30 AM

I'm very glad you came on board. It would be lonely here without you and Guiness.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 5:31 AM

If you post and comment a lot you will get there, and you can be assured of your hard work being rewarded here. Promised are kept.

BeadDoodler wrote on February 4, 2015, 7:09 AM

Congratulations! I know what you mean by the slow increase of income here, but it's such a pleasant and interesting community I stay even if there are days I don't "show up for work".

seren3 wrote on February 4, 2015, 9:30 AM

A timely pep talk! I have been wondering if it is a complete time waster trying to write anywhere. I really enjoy this site but I do need extra money right now too.

AngelSharum wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:08 AM

I wanted to start new with the new year. Weird I know. I am up to $3.01 now.

nbaquero wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:23 AM

BarbRad a tortoise with $18 in her bank emoticon :winking:

vickywrites wrote on February 4, 2015, 1:57 PM

Great. cash out as early as possible and make another post on that.

shaggin83 wrote on February 4, 2015, 1:58 PM

My bank account on here only went up about 2 cents the past 3 days. It's okay though I haven't been able to be active on here. I am back today for a short time and am so excited to be back!

FreyaYuki wrote on February 4, 2015, 3:26 PM

Congrats on reaching this milestone. That's great news. Hope you can reach the payment threshold soon. Still got a long way to go but this is motivating and encouraging emoticon

LilyDay wrote on February 4, 2015, 9:24 PM

I am a ways off from that. However, I do believe that the community will continue to grow and strengthen... and that more traffic will find its way to this site in the coming months.

allen0187 wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:45 PM

Congratulations on hitting $18. I was stuck at $8 for the longest time then I made some strides and now, I just broke through $9. Slow but steady comes to mind but I'd like to put in more work so I can see more progress.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:50 PM

I know what you mean.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:51 PM

i here the future and the real money is in freelancing for those who are ready to take that step.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:52 PM

We'll see. First I have to make that twenty dollars.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:53 PM

You can only do what you can do. I"m going to have to pay more attention to real world responsibilities, since I'm losing money by missing payments and having to pay late fees just because I'm not paying attention.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:54 PM

I will keep on keeping on as I have time.

BarbRad wrote on February 4, 2015, 11:54 PM

I surely hope it will.

BarbRad wrote on February 5, 2015, 12:00 AM

Looks like we are thinking the same way. We just have to keep at it if we want to get there.

allen0187 wrote on February 5, 2015, 12:50 AM

Most definitely BarbRad !

rana199426 wrote on February 6, 2015, 12:11 PM

Oh that's amazing! You're doing so well :) but wow you have like 240 articles!! I'm still so early to reach that..

BarbRad wrote on February 7, 2015, 1:27 PM

I've been here about six months now.

MariaMontgomery wrote on February 9, 2015, 4:11 PM

I hope you're right, Barb. It's been really slow going for me.

BarbRad wrote on February 9, 2015, 11:43 PM

It is slow, but I normally only post one a day, too.

CoralLevang wrote on February 19, 2015, 5:33 PM

Exciting to see this upcoming milestone for you, BarbRad !! Keep going! It will be encouragement for many!

BarbRad wrote on February 20, 2015, 12:12 AM

This morning I was up to $19.43. I just might make my goal of cashing out at the end of the month.

CoralLevang wrote on February 20, 2015, 12:21 AM

I would say by the 26th based on your momentum. :)
