Be Careful Whom You Befriend
Tuesday I spent a lot of time on photo walks. One of the last places I walked was on a country road in Templeton. It had rained the night before and the world was fresh and green and the sky was amazing everywhere I looked. I parked in a church parking lot and started photographing our beautiful sky, trees, and hills. This is the road I walked.
I walked to where it appears to end, and then I took a small path up a knoll by the tree near the end and made photos of the hills. There was beauty everywhere I looked.
I finally saw it was getting late and I wanted to stop at home to look for something, so I went back to my car. This is what I saw when I got back to my car. The introductory photo shows a closer view.
I really needed to get going, but the kitty wanted to be friends. She kept snuggling up to my feet.
Later, after I finally got back to Paso Robles, I was very tired. I had been on four separate short photo walks in different parts of two towns, and I'd also been shopping. I ate some dinner, worked late, and went to bed. When I got up the next morning, this is what I saw.
Those of you who tried to guess this photo came very close. That is the back of my leg just above the ankle. It's propped on a cardboard file box and I was tried to get a photo of the bites. I seriously doubt they could be mosquito bites. But given the photo above this, I'm guessing they may be flea bites. This kitty was beautiful and pretty tame, but she did keep trying to sratch her head on me and on the car tires. I suspect she had a few flea bites of her own. I will think twice before making friends with another stray kitty.
