Isn't Skype wonderful ?
Skype is such a wonderful program to have on your laptop or an app on your smartphone or tablet.
It helps keep family members, relationships and friendships in contact together and strengthen them no matter if they are a long or a short distance from each other.
Now a days it can even be used for interviews if you are far from the company's location!
Now that I live far from home I use it to keep in contact with my mum, sister and my gran. It helps me feel less home sick because I can see and hear them. I can see the dog I got as a child, the cat I got for my birthday, the cat we found and the other pets. One which was recently added since I left home.
Do you use Skype to keep in contact with anyone ?

It is wonderful, isn't it! We use Skype regularly to keep in touch with friends we have in Australia. It is a wonderful facility - and it's free!

I have never used Skype because I rarely have reason to make any calls beyond the country boundaries. However, it could be handy if I installed it in order to call someone while on holiday.

I have used Skype many times to contact friends and family abroad. I have it on my mobile too and laptop.

Yes, my dad used to just call his brothers whose living down South of the country but since Skype's invention, he has been skype-ing with them almost every week!

maxeen Using the video call option is not a must, you can have voice calls only as well. You should try it sometime!

No, I don't usSkype but I have started keeping in touch through facebook Messenger. My son installed it on my phone so I have no excuse

I like using Skype. I use it at the office mainly to coordinate with colleagues who are based in other countries. At home, I use it to chat with friends. Haven't used the free Skype calls as I've used it mainly for its chat function.

I love Skype, too. I have a friend in Europe that I talk to regularly, and our conversations sometimes go on for hours. If we talked on the phone, the cost would be huge, but with Skype, it's free!

I love using Skype, but don't use it often enough. You're right about it being great for "visiting" with family a long distance away. One of the many wonders of modern technology!
