The Blizzard of 2015 is finally over

The Blizzard of 2015 has a name, it is Juno. Juno dumped 19 inches of very light and fluffy snow on our yard. On our back deck, the drifts are higher than 3 feet. Our driveway got plowed this afternoon and the pile of snow at the end is more than 5 feet tall, it is quite impressive.

The weather is cold, in the 20's so I did not go out at all except to open the door for the dogs. Al had to shovel them a path so they could go under the deck to do their business.

We were lucky to not lose our power with the high winds that accompanied the storm. This is what winter is like in New England so I am not really complaining, just reporting.

We are snug and comfortable in our house and we have plenty of food and provisions so we don't really need to go anywhere unless the urge for free beignets calls us tomorrow morning. lol

This is Guiness the Cat. Your Outside is seriously broken. You should get it fixed. You won't catch this fluffy kitty out in all that snow.

That is a super view for all of us who are not experiencing it but I am happy to know that it did not disturb you much

What a gorgeous picture, it looks idyllic, even more so from a nicely heated home I´m guessing emoticon  if there´s one place in America i would love to visit, it´s new England. More picture posts please x

19 inches is quite a fair amount of snow and will take some time to disappear.

Oh it isn't going anywhere it is very cold and we have more snow in the forecast for Friday and then Monday. It took a while for our winter to get going but it seems to be doing quite well now. lol :)

I will do more about New England as I get rolling here. My husband has gone out to brave the weather at the gym. :)

I have to tell you Guiness that Honey, Beau and Brie really love the snow, they roll in it and run in circles, maybe you need to try imitating the dogs!! lol

We are indeed warm and comfortable. It is a very typical event in New England. :)

I am in Queens, New York. We got a good amount of snow, but nothing apocalyptic. No power outages, so that was a very good thing. Just east of us they got a lot more snow.

This is Guiness the Cat. The last time Debbi dumped me in the snow with the intent of taking pictures, I turned and hightailed it back to the house. So who's smarter, here, the cold wet dogs or the warm, cozy cat?

zabelle51 wrote on January 28, 2015, 10:24 PM

lol You are right of course Guiness, cats are much smarter than dogs.

Actually we are not at the lake house, that is in PA. We turned off the water last week so no going there til we have all the utilities back on. We are in Connecticut at our main residence. Though we were stuck there in the snow in December coming back from Virginia and it was indeed very snug.

I remember many winters like that. As a kid, I loved it. But I wouldn't want to have to drive around in it now.

zabelle51 wrote on January 29, 2015, 4:35 PM

No driving in it is not fun but our town is very good at taking care of the roads and they got the mess out of the way quickly. :)

That is such an amazing photo. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like for you, so very beautiful yest so very cold and restricting.

We are all plowed out so it isn't as bad but we have more snow coming tonight, gotta love a white winter. ;)
