Driven by New Goals Here on Persona Paper

The decision to make Persona Paper my new writing home wasn't taken lightly. For about the first week of writing here I really only dabbled, finding my way around, meeting new people and trying to make sensible decisions. Those decisions have now been made. I rather like being here. This has definitely become my new writing home. That feels good as I felt adrift for the last few weeks, not a good feeling.

So now the time has come to make some new writing goals. I can't spend as much time here as I'm tempted to spend, as I'm currently researching for my next book. I need to spend at least a couple of hours, if not more, most days on my more serious writing project, a social history of the old swimming baths where I live.

However, to make being here worthwhile I've set myself the goal of five postings a day for the next few weeks. That, along with reading and commenting on the work of others should keep me more than busy! Whether I can keep up that pace will depend on what ever else arises in my writing world.

So, having now publicly declared my goal, I shall do my utmost to keep it. Happy writing and reading to all of you as you work toward your own goals here.

Hi there! Hope you'll be able to do as you wish. I have been on here for quite some time but couldn't seem to establish any relationships because I'm not so active. I am so caught up with my life and business in the new world I hardly had the time to be on here. But this week, i shall try to make a post at least once a day. Good luck to you!

I try to write one post per day. Come summer, I may try for more. I'm also trying to write longer pieces of text. Best of luck to you.

I don't necessarily have a goal for Persona but that's okay. I don't want to push myself more than I am willing to work.

Good luck with your new goals here on Persona Paper. I'm posting once a day and interacting for only an hour or two. In the future, I will spend more time here as I connect with more people.

Good luck on your five post per day goal! Sadly, I can't make that much articles in a day. I'd be lucky if I can pull off an article in two days! LOL :D

Just curious as to the need for such a goal. It seems like that could drain a fair amount of attention from other writing.

Five post a day is a really a good start. My best wishes. I hope you'll be able to catch up.

I have been here for a three weeks now after leave another site after one year of writing, I really enjoy writing/reading/commenting for a couple hours a day.

Squidwhisperer you're probably right, but I need some light relief from the research at the moment. I enjoy throwing short pieces here together quickly and reading the writings of others - I don't watch much TV and I'm retired so my time is my own. And okay, I'm crazy, without goals I never achieve anything. Over the last couple of days of writing and interacting more I've enjoyed the steady growth of the cents in my bank emoticon

I hear you. I'm not retired but I do have other writing projects on the go and am both drawn to sites like this and unfortunately distracted by them. The thing that drove me a but nuts at the B-word place was the determination - stated by many - to sort of "meet the quota." Crank stuff out, Like you, I think this place is cool, and I'd love to see it become a place that people seek out.

I once tried the ten post a day stuff - oh my goodness, it did my head in!

valmnz wrote on January 25, 2015, 11:41 PM

I find it far more interesting than watching TV!

great article thanks for sharing!

I did it once. It was fun. I think I made $1.75. But then all those bits of thoughts ... extinguished...or left to drift away in fog

I like to have 2-3 places on the go really, that way if one place is slower, I can work for another for a few days.

I'm having a trial period here where I'm putting all my eggs in one basket, to see how it works out. But I have been writing all over, even back on Triond for heavens sake!

CoralLevang wrote on January 26, 2015, 1:17 AM

valmnz I will join you with the 5 a day soon, but for now, I will commit to 10 per week.
Best wishes on your new goals!!

I'm putting all my eggs in this one basket for awhile, to see what happens. Great excitement to see the cents in the bank growing.

Good luck with your goal. So far I have never managed to write 5 posts a day, but I think it would be an interesting challenge.

Koalemos wrote on January 26, 2015, 12:13 PM

I do not spend a great deal of time here at present, but that is partly because the site is still relatively quiet.

LilyDay wrote on January 31, 2015, 11:25 PM

I wouldn't be able to keep up such a pace with posts. I think that the last time that I was posting 5+ things per day on a semi-regular basis was several years ago on the first writing site where I was active.

I am here after I read your post about 100 comments a day. Will you still write 5 posts a day?
