Strange Day Today

I had planned to go out today to meet with some of my friends. We gather on Fridays to do some watercolor painting. A couple of them are more experienced in the medium than the rest of us, and they share their tips freely with the group. It's usually a casual affair as we meet in one of the women's houses.

Sometimes we've even gotten an instructor from the local art college to come to give us a lesson. We all chip in to pay her for her time and to rent the space where we meet for the more formal lessons.

For some reason, I couldn't get it together to leave the house on time today and so I didn't go. I'm disappointed with myself. On the other hand, I had a relaxing day with my husband who is home from work today. I even sat down at the piano and pulled out some music I used to sing years ago. I can hardly get all those high notes, but it didn't matter. Singing gives me such joy.

Do you have something special that makes you feel happy?

I don't at the moment. But I remember years back if one or half a day was "stolen" to spend with a mate, that was a very special day!

I am learning to play the autoharp. I sing as I play and it is a great stress reliever.

That sounds like a lot of fun, Magnolia!

And yes, it was special that way, in between his snores, that is!

I haven't had anything like that in a long time, it use to be horseback riding, but since we moved and finances got tight, paying to ride a horse got put way back there...someday.

I hope you're able to get back to horseback riding some day, Kat.

I imagine that watercoloring and singing while playing a home piano are very pleasing pastimes.
