I Really Need To Do Some Training

While we are away in Florida my wife Katie and I are 's Princess 5k and I have not done any training at all. Katie has been training for months now but I just have not had the time, so over the next four weeks I am going to have to get out and pound those pavements. I am pretty fit as things stand as I 100+ miles a week, but running is a bit different to cycling and I don't want to be arrogant and pretend that I don't need to train at all. Hopefully I will be able to get out this weekend do some training, I have done plenty of running in the past including a half marathon, so hopefully I will be able to get up to speed pretty quickly, if not it might be a little embarrassing come race day.

I've always heard that training is important when planning on doing a marathon. I would think you should be OK since you are fit and have run before, you just need to get into the nuances of running instead of just biking and I'm sure you won't embarrass yourself.

You will finish in good time without the extra training, but you may lose out to your wife!

I'm not into either cycling or running but I do a fair amount of walking - well, hiking actually. That keeps me fit.

We saw the Star Wars 5k, 10k and Marathon while we were in Disneyland last. It's an incredible experience. I'm talking of taking part in the 5k next time too. Good luck!
