New Mom Dies without Ever Seeing Her Quadruplets
So many things happen to us during the course of our lives, that we all tend to feel sorry for ourselves from time to time. I know have and I've also made things seem so much more important than they really are to the point of being ashamed of myself. Then I see a story like the one about the woman in Phoenix who died Friday after giving birth to quadruplets through a C-section procedure.
The mother of the newborns was Erica Morales, only 36 years old. She and her husband Carlos, had tried for over two years to have children and sadly, suffered through a prior miscarriage. So, this time, her whole focus was to do all that was within her power to do all the right things in hopes that the baby would be delivered healthy. Well, the baby turned out to be four babies and she only carried her three daughters and one son to seven months term. Sadly, she never gained consciousness and died never having had a chance to see or hold her children.
She was hospitalized at first because of her rising blood pressure, but yet to be released facts of complications came up before the doctors at Banner Good Samaritan Medical Center decided to take her to surgery. So, just how important do I still think some of my problems are compared to this ? Not very important at all. And this poor man, Carlos Morales, has lost his life's partner and mother of his children and will have the enormous financial struggles of the four babies needing to be hospitalized for at least two more months. And that's just to get him back to the starting line when actually providing for and raising a family begins.
Sure, a fund raising website will help defer some of the financial cost, but may God grant the Morales family the strength and determination that they will need to overcome the cost of losing a courageous wife and mother.
